I was in the half that didn't like this kind of bike.. and I'm still in the half of the forum that doesn't like this kind of bike.
It is better than a Vauxhall though.

kiki Pot holes? What pot holes....
These bikes handle the shite roads we have in our favoured city.
i would much rather ride london streets on a properly built open pro wheel and a 'normal' weight butted steel bike, deep v's are heavy and only pinned plus not such a comfortable ride, just because it's heavy doesn't mean it's stronger.
butted lighter tubes give a more supple ride, it's not as if wheels and frames are regularly failing because of london potholes is it? -

i like it and if it retails at £400 i reckon its good value and will sell well.
good luck to em.

^ as above, it's nice (until you see the stickers and know it was 'off the peg').
Charge are a smallish Somerset company that **don't ** claim to make the best bikes in the world. Cheap fun bikes for the People !!! Less crass than On-One, less weight-watchers than Condor, less heritage than Bob Jackson, but ok. -

velocity boy You know, if it's £400 and comes with a brake... there's the root of a fixed/single speed bike hire company to be had there. London is screaming out for the ability to hire a decent bike when you need one at a decent rate. To cover £400 is pretty easy, the cost to rent a shitty hybrid in London is "Per hour £3.00, 1st day £18.00, Next days £9.00(days 2 & 3) £6.00(days 4 & 5), 1st week £48.00, 2nd week £10.00", a few Plugs in stock and a flat daily rate of £14-ish per day and you'd be set pretty quick, and this forum would provide a lot of business because you'd catch the market of people who are into fixed/ss around the world travelling to London and wanting a bike.
I had a fairly similar thought, the problem is insurance it's basically prohibitive. I have no idea how other hire companies work.
