I like it. As many people before have said it's a decent option if you want the Polo look off the peg. Compare this to 'your Dad at a disco' efforts from Spesh with the London/Boston/NY etc. Twatster. What would you have for 400 GN?
If I'd spent a bit of time perfecting that look via my own efforts I would be a bit sore that someone can just buy it off the peg. So I can understand some of the opinions previously stated. Yorgo and David make good points - the great thing about LFGSS is the lack of snobbery and the friendliness (and piss take) that goes with it. Let's not lose sight of that just because it's becoming a bit more popular.
The one worry I have with a brakeless bike that isn't pretending that its bound for the velodrome is the potential Daily Mail brakeless backlash-in-waiting. I trust they'll be sticking a front brake on when it goes into production?

stock fuji's don't come with a brake from the factory, neither do the bianchi pista ;)

scott not scot that's a bloody good idea VB!
As for all this 'mega heavy' talk.....even the heaviest frames are at the most only a couple of pounds heavier....and as most of us carry locks heavier than that it don't make any difference...as everyone knows...the wheels are the place to lose weight,so it's not a problem having a heavier frame!
i'd bet the plug frame just like my brklyn will still be going strong long after all the lightweight frames have bent, twisted and snapped....this is a bike for the street....not the boards....a fixed wheel bike is never gonna be THAT heavy....so a couple of extra pounds on the frame doesn't bother me one bit.Being a Plug owner, I totally agree, its heavier than a lot of frames but sturdy as fuck, i'm happy thrashing through the potholes of london and twatting around knowing that i'm less likely to kill it.
I love my plug. -

mightyMouse if you want the Polo look off the peg.
what's this polo look? It's funny, the bikes i see actually playing polo look nothing like this.

scott not scot poloenger look?
Lookenger. noun (someone who goes to polo but does not actually play)

i like it, but the colour is a bit off, if i were looking for an of the peg bike i would think of getting one, it looks very much like a bike fixedgear london made using the pedal mafia image as reference the white one with risers (couldnt find link)
And i like what charge bikes do they are only a small company making good value off peg the bikes.

dogsballs stock fuji's don't come with a brake from the factory, neither do the bianchi pista ;)
Both of which come with a health warning / stickers - not for road use. The Plug is never going to convince anyone that it's at home at the Velodrome. -

Would it be a heinous crime to ride this bike wearing Carhartts?
I like! You know my steez!

dogsballs
Build
jonaent (Jon) I like the blue one..... Radial spoked wheel is cool though!
cross 4?
need a 40H rim at least to do 4-x
My track wheels (as in track hubs with open ballbearings and light oil, track rims and track tubulars) are 36h 4 cross.
It's also the preferred, if not mandatory, way of lacing for Japanese Keirin racers.BTW, that saddle on the new Smug looks quite short, almost like a ladies saddle. Could this bike be gender specific?
That might explain the horrible colorway... -
• #94
damn you mike, but i would assume you'd have to curve the bottom edge to get around the other spokes.
-

^ trixie might have sthg to say? :P
i just don't fancy seeing superted on that pink bike. and i second what dt says. polo bikes are the shittiest bikes built for what is potentially a rather rough game. that bike you see there is more of a MASH/trackstar wannabe than anything else.
-
• #96
i think the short saddle is for the same reasons bmx etc have small saddles

Pot holes? What pot holes....
These bikes handle the shite roads we have in our favoured city.
Hopefully they bring it out in that multi/change paint colourway that you see boy racers driving around in their honda civics! Love that shit. Makes me want to park up my bike and spend twice the amount of time getting around town!Who looks cooler? Plug smugs or kids with designer facial hair!!

Tynan, you and your multi coloured gifs. In my pissed state I was staring at that for far to long... ;-)

It's also the preferred, if not mandatory, way of lacing for Japanese Keirin racers. You're right dude - NJS rules require 36 hole 4 cross wheels. The rear wheel on the Smug Plug looks like 3 cross.
I completely agree with Yorgo on this. Half the people on the forum have admired bikes that look like this or own one like this, just not an off the peg one. A few years ago you couldn't buy deep vs in the UK, now they're available in lots of colours. Wonder why...
That is my ultimate goal, yes.
