@Habitual - ah, cheers, mine is 27mm so I guess the seat-post at least is 501 from something someone said earlier in this thread but then Reynolds 501 didn't come out until 1983 and from various efforts to date the frame it 'seems' to be older than this - most odd :s
I've kind of given up on dating it accurately to be honest with 1 of the frame no. digits missing (it's 332357 btw). I'd love to know why it didn't get stamped, or what it was that made the guy doing it forget lol.

Got this one from here a few weeks ago. Got some nice old Campagnolo and Cinelli bits which need a clean up. Can't decide on saddle and tape colour though. Any ideas?

Don't have it yet, but it's slowly making its way!
Champ Mond AA, although not sure which type of AA. Can't wait to see it in real life. I suspect the colour is going to be different.
Thanks to Chaim (Shame on the forum) for help getting this bad boy!!
And check out the sweet Eindhoven Fixed shirt.

Has Chaim now got it? Looks gorgeous!

Yeah, got it (and Rupert's bike) this evening. Super excited.

I just mailed you guys the photo's of Ruperts bike.. Btw, the frame-set doesn't say anything about AA or AA-special (there no decals on the chain stays where they normally are).. It just says Champion Mondial. Though it looks exactly the same as my AA-special which i have in my basement (don't know if you guys seen it when you were at my place)

Right have decided to flip this machine can't justify a double carbon tubbed bike for daily riding so if anyone has interest please let me know. It is in London
If it doesn't sell would consider swapping parts for part for MTB jump bike bits

AA-Special (regular rear triangle, no concave seat tube, 531 tubing, cable through t/t), late 1980's
Appearantly sold by Het Tweewielerhuis, Barneveld (near the place where I live).Don't have it yet, but it's slowly making its way!

How much is a Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Special in good nick worth?

Any idea what this Gazelle is all about? Just picked it up, and might turn it into a SS
Gazelle Champion Mondial with a really odd paintjob. Looks like the frame was white and the previous owner sprayed it over with red spots, but failed to do a proper job.

@dicki
You're selling the full bike? I posted a heads up on Retrobike.Any idea what this Gazelle is all about? Just picked it up, and might turn it into a SS

Interesting, cross bike with internal cable routing. I do not spot wrap over stays. Oddball to me. I can't explain, but maybe some others can and of course pretty much went custom too, so if someone wanted that 'why not', they thought probably.

Already expressed in another thread that this is probably NOT a Champ. Mond. Cyclocross F&F.
I doubt if it is a Gazelle.
Seat stay caps, lugs, chain stay cable stopper, internal cable routing, colour, imitation decals (green too light, bad handwriting Origineel Gazelle Handwerk, worn condition), bottle bosses, fork crown, complete chrome plated with brake bosses).
But the (Mafac?) brakes and the chain guides on the chain set are really nice.Any idea what this Gazelle is all about? Just picked it up, and might turn it into a SS

@ zielmann
thanks for posting the fact i am selling the TT bike. retrobike is for older classics i guess ? hopefully someone would like this for classic races ?
I wanted to buy the bike and sell the bits and use the frame and forks for a fixed gear. everyone i have spoken to said don't split it and as i have no real reason to have a bike like that i think selling it to raise funds for another is my best option. i do get a bit sentimental about older bikes and their rarity value. it would be best to keep this bike complete if at all possible. thus i would like to sell to someone to use on rides like the eroica or who competes in classic races where older veteran bikes might be used.
i'll try and get some more info sorted about sizes etc components so people know what they are dealing with here -

Good you keep the TT bike as it is Dicki.. Would be a shame to build a fixed gear conversion of it and sell the parts! This one deserves to be as it is, original!

Hello
posted this in 'current builds' but wondered if anyone could put me in the right direction concerning date. I know it must be pre-1976, right? Also forks are flat crown but are abit unusual having circular lug detail (bit not for a brake)(pics later maybe).
Thanks,

Give us some pics from underneath BB shell...
Lugs, tops of seat stays, drop-outs, all look identical to mine and period sounds about right. What size is your seat-post? I don't think the forks on mine are original but they are Gazelle and from a catalog they're 753 so nice and light but slightly later early 80s if I remember correctly :)
