not sure if im violating any rules by asking this here:
i've been out of the"game" for a few years due to knee injury and want to get back into road cycling now.gonna let my gazelle track go to fund a road bike and im not sure what a fair price for the frame would be?
any direction on what would be a reasonable asking price would be appreciated. Pic below of it in it's current state and a flick album which has some older photos which show details better

well just tried a new chain with no improvement. the cog doesnt look particularly worn but i think you may be on to something. would also explain why it works ok with my other bike (also old chain).
i still have the old chain, albeit without the original quick release link. can i use a new quick release link (from a different brand) with an old chain as a quick fix for the weekend?

i dont think its the BB. ive been using the same bike with a loaner wheel for the last week and no problems. which is part of the reason why i thought the problem was with the wheel in the first place
the chain wasnt too tight. i thought that might have been the reason at first too but the creaky rattle noise its making is waaay louder than taut-chain rattle
chain is cleaned and lubed
my brother has a brand new chain lying around. im going to try that out as thats the only thing i can think of at this point
finding this all very odd

ok i think i figured it out. i put the wheel on my other bike to see if that helps to diagnose whats wrong and the noise is gone. so somehow its the combination of that wheel with my crank and new chain. seeing as the chain is the only new factor since the noise started im going to have to assume its that.
however: i used that chain with a loaner wheel for the last week while the wheel was getting repaired, all without any problem. everything is 1/8 size so why the noise?
i have a feeling there is some sort of simple explanation which basically boils down to me making some sort of noob mistake. does someone have an idea? id like to figure this out before i buy a new chain and (possibly still have the same problem on my hands)
Cheers man, id seen some of those but there are a whole bunch i didnt. This gives me a pretty good indication of fair value.
