I'm in if allowed to borrow a ti road machine. Don't forget Festus, Mr. Ti himself.
-
• #128
I knew there were others, but couldn't think who. Given the number of times Festus and I have discussed our love of Ti that's embarrassing. I apologise unreservedly to him and DJ for my forgetfullness. I think it must be pre-race nerves. :p

Btw, I do like TheCrane's new build, very tastefully done.
-
• #130
Is it possible *not *to be tasteful with a Ti build?
goes off to check internet
Yes the fuck yes.
-
• #131
only if you go for all white accent points.
but no one would do that, surely.
-
• #132
I made do with my old grey Time XEs, rather than splurging on the white Absalom ones. And no fucking hudz. There are limits.

any of Prav's bikes are proof that Ti can be made into a saggy readers wife

I could magic gear my De Rosa, which I've contemplated before, for the day.

Sorry, but yes I do. I bought it direct from De Rosa in 1999. It was my best bike for many years and recently, partly inspired by the-smiling-buddha's beautiful Pinarello, I've built it with mid-90s Campag kit:
I've fitted a shorter stem, and now have a pair of 8 speed clincher Shamals to go on it.

Don't want to look like a stalker but that deserve to be posted:

Thanks Laurent. That's my new best bike. Also titanium, as is my cross bike.
My name is Andy and I have a Ti addiction.
-
• #140
No Ti pedals though. You disgust me.
-
• #141
That is a stunning bike Andy, where do you get them? I had a wee look in the internet for stuff on them and couldn't find much. I've been considering a titanium frame for a while now, definitely going custom for my next road frame and think titanium's the way to go for it.

It was made by a small company in Italy called Paduano Racing. They make around 200 frames a year so you don't see many of them around.

I was looking for a new frame this time last year and saw that model in coverage from Eurobike. I contacted them, got a detailed quote on price and so on then went to visit them in November (they are about 1.5 hours drive from Rome). Frame was ordered then and I received it in March.

Ti is for ex sci Fi nerds that never grew up.
Fucking idiots the lot of them.
-
• #145
shit. that's me. another reason to go Ti.
although i have to say that i think carbon is way more sci-fi and spacey than boring old metal.
-
• #146
I was never into sci-fi whole-heartedly. I'm more of a Dickhead.
-
• #147
wow, really nice build crane! you must be chuffed.

Dancing James.
Magic gears are acceptable. Platini could do that on his interim Lightspeed.
So far so good:
-
• #149
I can't believe I wrote 'Lightspeed'. Words FAIL (me).
That's a right orgy of componentry going on. Did the frame come with those world champion stripes, or were they added?

who are the bars by?

I'm sure there are others. Anyway, who wants to be in the bunch when they could be in the breakaway?
