Apologies for potential highjack here but any suggestions for Velocity Dually rims, 35mm wide?

How much dorra?

CRC only have 1.85 - probably nicely match to my skinny rims but too skinny?
-
• #9206
You could get away with it. But I wouldn't fork out £30 for a 1.85".

Looks like that's an old model. There's newer model with Snakeskin sidewall prptection for ~£35 in 2.25.

Time for some fancy new race wheels, with wider rims?
-
• #9209
Nope. It took all weekend to talk myself out of doing that.
This is a one-off so there's no point spending big dorra.

£15? or if you have some spds or atacs would do some kinda swap?
i think they are the electrons

I used to have lots of spare SPDs and ATACs but stock levels have dwindled :)
I probably should piss them off - doesn't look like I'll move away from midfoot now.But most importantly - what colour are they? Are you anywhere near Paddington?
-
• #9212
they are black. work in clerkenwell, happy to cycle up to pads on lunchtime or meet halfway or whatevs is easy.
not sure whether you are saying you have swaps or not....?

What like Velocity Duallys? ;)

Got a pair of 26" hope / stans / nobby nics you can use if ya desperate. 2.2" I think, front and rear.
Rear is an Arch rim so more likely to survive the more 'powerful' gent.

Let me have a look but I reckon cash is more likely.
-
• #9216
Thanks but I reckon it's safer for everyone if I run my own shit and see how that goes :)
If I suddenly start mtb racing then I'll worry about the upgrades.

Please, for a 29 + bike, South Downs Way and some road- Maxis Ikon?

29+ for road seems like an odd choice.

What the fuck
Rocket Rons are good as a rear tyre with a more aggressive front for winter riding. I wouldn't put them on the front for a winter race though. Nics or something else.
@AdsH knows his race tyres.
I'll be 'racing' at Crowthorne this weekend on a racing ralph rear and a nic up front.
