Good to know, kinda. Agree, getting UST MTB rubber on UST rims is a doddle.
Anyone fancy doing Gorrick XC at Crowthorn on Sunday?

Need to dust the cobwebs off my XC bike before our Epping outing. What better way than to get lycrad up and crash it in Crowthorn wood?

I've got a white 18"On-One Inbred 26" SS V-brake frame I'm going to be selling, if anyone is interested? It's in good condition, £35, in Leyton.

Broke my dropper post at FoD enduro race on Sunday. It was carnage. Mud everywhere. I had a coming-together with a tree. Climbing after that with a permanently dropped post was fun: like a hoodie on a BMX...
Anyone riding Sunday? I fancy an outing but have nobody to ride with.

Staying in Fairmouth now, got a few days riding at Coed Y Brenin coming up.

If you get a chance, go up the road a bit and try the trails at Penmachno, really lovely.
-
• #6409
Penmachno is great but remember there's no trail centre as such, so no hot chocolate. What are you riding @dancing james? Please tell me not that fatbike.
Heart of Darkness on the Tawr trail is wicked, but can you ride it without dabbing? Straight after that are the wicked Snap then Crackle then Pop trails, my gf caned them so hard I was laughing my tits off trying to keep up with her.
Whatever you're riding, you'll enjoy the shit out of CYB.

I entered the Gorrick autumn classic at crowthorn on Sunday. Early start though.

• #6412
Let me know how it goes, got the one on the 14th of December pencilled in. What category?
-
• #6413
The bits of Penmachno I've ridden were all in forest. Proper old skool welsh trails.

Master + male, four laps.
My rear Marta brake seems to have gained a whole load of air since I hung it up in July. Yay!

@umop3pisdn Crowthorn is sandy, right? Not a whole lot of clearance with a 2.25" but I'm thinking it won't clog up.
-
• #6416
Yeah, don't think you'll have clearance issues, but make sure your pads have got plenty of life left. They can go in a single ride if it's wet.

I've entered the Brass Monkeys series this winter, there's three rides/races in the MOD land at Pirbright.
Anyone else here doing it?
Does anyone know what the deal is with riding those trails generally? I've seen people riding in the woods when I've passed on my road bike but the signs I've seen say keep out, or something to that effect.
-
• #6419
Yeah I has sintereds. Should be OK. Will bring some spares with me just in case.
-
• #6420
You left a child to explore the forest on his own?
For shame.
-
• #6422
I'm hoping to ride the 14th of December one at Tunnel Hill.
Trails on MOD land have generally been ok on a sort of 'don't take the piss' basis I think, but apparently there's been some access issues lately.

Just went around Richmond park with some mates instead, they were on less practical bikes so we didn't do much.
Had loads of fun and can't wait to finish my bike now.
-
• #6424
I've entered the 3 of them. Grand Vets this year so only 3hrs

Euph?
They will probably go on to crappy fake-tubeless Stan rims easier than they will go on to proper UST rims, and getting proper UST tyres onto proper UST rims has never caused me any trouble.
