No, last night. I want to ride my mountain bike but there's no way that's going to happen this weekend. Stupid injuries and their stupid consequences.

Em, you have a broken toe? WTF mate
-
• #192
Yeah. I'm a dick and came off the BMX ysterday. Thinkin about trying to ride to work tomorrow just to see how it goes but this morning was a definite no.
MTBing is definitely a little too punishing right now. Probably likewise for polo but knowing me a little alcohol and some HTFU should see me playing again by Sunday.

Bad luck on the toe dude - always hurts like a bastard!
I might be able to do 29/11 or 6/12, but definitely can't do 13/12.
Tommy - if you and FBR go down this weekend then you can buy a map from Nirvana cycles showing some of the singletrack on holmbury hill or head to leith hill and look about the woods and mess about on the trails. Check this site for some info on Leith Hill and a map of some of the trails there http://www.redlandstrails.org/trails_map_cold.htm I went to Pitch Hill last weekend and just rode around the place looking for likely trails - we found some crackers! Some time I will actually make it with you!

So I'm keen to head out on the 6th or 7th December - anyone else want to get down to the North Downs to freeze their tits off and maybe get very muddy?
-
• #195
maybe maybe
-
• #196
maybe, tis my birthday w/e so depend on what I organise but seems as a good a way as any to celebrate another year of failure.
-
• #197
I'd be up for helping Tommy celebrate his birthday with a cocktail of mud and blood.
How would we get to this MTBing nirvana?
-
• #198
What kind of distance/terrain are you thinking about doing?
I could quite easily make the DMR rigid again. Just need to work out tyre choices becuase I'm using fat as fat can be at the moment. Which will be shit for cross country. This is no way me signing up just an admission of my possible intent.

Cool - I'm up for a "Tommy's year of glorious failure ride". Maybe a fall into a muddy puddle would be appropriate. I'd prefer Saturday but am cool with either.
I was thinking of getting the train from Waterloo/Clapham Junction/Balham depending on where you live down to Dorking. Then it's about five miles on double track and country lanes to the trails. Then we ride as much of the singletrack as we want and do five miles back to the station. Can stop for drinks etc at some point on the way back or have a couple on the train.
Object, it will probably be muddy unless it doesn't rain at all for the next 10 days so some tyres that can handle that might be useful!
Badly. I've started buying the parts for a new lo-pro instead. Just need to order the frame and sort out things like the stem etc. The Surly has been relegated to my beater bike. The DMR gained a new King headset out of the deal. The Sunday comes next. She'll still be ready for summer though :]
