well i can recommend a trip to coed-y-brenin and penmachno, some ace trails there. the 'beast' at coedy is up there with some of the trails i rode in the alps.
here is a vid of a bit of the trail at penmachno (not me riding i found it on the web)
http://www.mtbbritain.co.uk/images/penmachno_straight.wmvi would recommend a bouncy bike though as a hardtail is going to get knackering after a while, the descending is worth all the climbing, you don't get hills like that round here!

Calipers, what are the best ones? Mud clearance, braking when wet... things like that.

does anyone win a DH race on a brooklyn? it's all air forks/shocks, tubeless and sub 40lb bikes now. or are they freeride huck bikes? i mean why go to the trouble of getting zero chain growth for riding off cliffs?

really liking the trance, climbs well with the propedal and seems to deal with the rough stuff well, been using all the travel but it doesn't really feel like it's bottoming out, still getting used to the speed the corners come at you compared to a hardtail. it's active under braking which is quite handy :-)
a bit sketchy in the air as i'm trying to pump it like a hardtail and it's just kicking the back up so i need to work on that.
no complaints though i know it's not a bling bike like a turner or ventana but i'm really pleased with it. -

I still prefer my friends older trance to my burner. There are some bargains to be had for sure on STW, i got my turner from there though i think it will probably go back soon. Not feeling it and need some cash. Oh well.
Glad you had a good weekend, i'm hoping to go to wales soon with a van full of bikes. -

Was thinking about buying the singular swift on there at the mo but my GF would castrate me. :(
It might also be quite big.Not sure about the 29er thing.

I'd like to try some jones H bars. They look pretty interesting.
Trying to reduce/re-distribute my bike pile so i guess building a 29er is out of the question atm.
We shall see..... -

Scot do you have some afliliation with BMW. I ask becasue you have three of their bikes and they have a picture of your gangstar on their website. I remember you saying something but can't remember.

When's the BMW tattoo going to happen? ;]
-
• #167
Provided your object tattoo is a picture of my face rather than a duplicate of my own object tattoo.

Oi Emilie - are you gonna bring the tank out to play?
-
• #169

That's amazing. I've just removed my piercings, had duplicates of yours pierced instead. I've shaved my head and I'm booked in to see your tattooists for replicas of your tattoos ;]

provenrad Oi Emilie - are you gonna bring the tank out to play?
Yes. It's been a little annoying with the perpetual busy and no clue if I'll even be in the same place as my bike.
I'm pretty much free from the week after the brighton ride. Planning a trip to epping forest and cwn cairns in the following two weekends - unless I get any offers of better places to ride?!? -

Life swap will be even easier when we live together. Just need to make me taller or you shorter.
@ Prav - could you tell us apart if you saw us riding each others bikes?
-

Emilie - you can get the hell out of London - Bonnie Scotland will have a Scott-shaped void.
Swinley Forest this weekend... ? -

I'm in brighton this weekend. Taking the DMR though as I'll be spending most of saturday on my own. SOunds like an ideal excuse for some sill street games.

I have all my bits now, just need to find a few evnings to put it all together.
How is the sunday frame going Object?
That's what I was thinking too - we think they're mental and they probably think the same about us. There was one guy in a pink shrt who seemed to spend most of his time running away from a grinning man who looked like a potato.
I came home and had a hot bath while drinking a cold bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale, what a great Saturday.
