Send it to tf tuned, they really know their shit and have been very helpful when we've serviced stuff and needed a pointer.

If you want another reason to dislike all that Red Bull downhill "extreme" nonsense, here it is - http://www.thefader.com/2017/04/24/red-bull-ceo-launching-right-wing-news-breitbart-trump

Well the epic sold and having ridden the new Windhill B1ke park @ Longleat at the weekend i've decided the Tallboy I have is too big for me and I need something that is fun, but also can be pedalled well.
Seems a bargain to me?
I had a quick ride on my brothers Kona 1somethingsomething DL and loved it in 650b.
Mavic 650b wheelsets are VV cheap on CRC at the moment too. XT groupo Fox 34 up front? can probably come in at £2.5K for a pretty tasty build.

I didn't end up hearing from the guy. Despite saying it could be picked up yesterday. Going to wait it out a bit but I figure if he was even remotely interested in selling I'd have heard something along the lines of 'need more time cause it's promised to someone else, maybe' etc etc
In the meantime Cotic's offered me an unpainted soul with decals. Which could present some exciting project possibilities (including custom colour options). Though, I really know nothing about mountain bikes...

Awesome
I really know nothing about mountain bikes...
Sounds like the perfect opportunity to learn :-)

Anyone got anything interesting, ideally steel, with a bit of bounce up front that they would be interested in swapping for a medium Singular swift?

Anyone want a chinese crabon fork? Tapered, 165mm steerer, 15mm through axle. Undersized crown race so it's cheap. I used a coke can shim effectively for a few months, or you could take it to a carbon repair place and get them to lay down a bit of carbon. £20? Steerer cut to 165mm. No gnar experience.

Silly expensive, but, someone will copy it for sure. -

OK. So I am almost very close to hitting go with the Cotic Small.
However, I wanted to poll the hivemind, bearing in mind that I am not really an MTB-er, so I don't really know how forks or all the angles end up affecting reach.
Let's assume I go for a 120mm reach fork. At 5'5" I'm smack dab in the middle of XS and a S. Stacks are both the same. 11mm reach difference. Could this be easily compensated for by a shorter stem?
Is there something I'm missing here...

The general trend in MTB geometry is a move towards longer toptubes and shorter stems.
Can you get a test ride? Cotic do demos all over the country. -
• #10175
As the stack is identical on both, I'd personally go for the longer of the two. It's generally better to shorten a mtb stem to accommodate reach than to lengthen it, as modern angles usually work better with shorter stems. ( No Euro-Pro look necessary here )
Only thing I'd watch out for is the standover, so measure your current bike's saddle-BB distance. Then work out how much exposed seatpost each size would leave you with, as you might want to install a dropper post later.
Soho bikes?
