I'm sure the bloke in orange helmet is saying "cunt".
I kicked him off his bike on the way up.. I really don't like orange.. especially orange bikes.. hehehe
The more people I see suffering, the happier I am and the faster I ride..
Until I stop to take photos of the lovely countryside :)"fast cunt" actually.. :P

... Chainring? That would explain it...
;-DDon't make me neg rep you for context rape. :P
I have a proper road double. None of this bullshit compact wankytoss.
I also weigh more than all the other cyclists on that hill at the same time, combined.
My cassette is a 12-58T though ;)

Autumn Epic.. another one done and dusted.. or should that be fucking completely soaked.
Crazy wet. "Epic" flood crossing. "Epic" dams in the Elan valley. Saw dandy horse heading the wrong way (going for extra mileage I think). Awesome views. Nice B&B. Extra day off to wander Knighton and surrounds with girlie. Organisers/valunteers did really well, pity the rainman couldn't chip in or butt out. Came in around 150th from 420 finishers out of 1000 entrants (no show slackers!) without training or trying. I like Wales.Let's go for the triple...
"Note the walkers".Nicely done hippy that truly was a fun ride... Unfortunately that photo doesnt do justice to how bad the damn weather was.. Was the worst i've ridden in for a while.. I cant believe those people walking up that hill, lazy f**kers!!
My hip is still hurting after my big spill, gonna be off the bike for a couple of weeks, to top off the spill my mates car broke down on the way back which meant we didnt get back to london till 2am on sunday, having left knighton at about 4pm. what a shitter.
Well done again for finishing when so many people didnt even show up...

Good work there. I have a deep, deep loathing of the Elan valley. I can't even say it's name without a shudder going down my spine. Horrible, horrible place.

I had similar thoughts when I passed you at Tour of Wessex. ;-)

Elan Valley was gorgeous!
fasteddy: You are one of few. (ha!) :P
I think I was too fucked to feign any kind of easy-going nonchalance, etc.. :) -

What I like about that photo is that hippy is in short sleeves, track mitts and knee warmers whilst all the rest are dressed for winter. Bunch of pussies.
-

The smart cyclist dresses for the occasion..
Then again, this cyclist has been out in the Chilterns in summer kit while it snowed. That was stoopid! :)

Are there any other sportives left this year? Is it just the Exmoor Beast in November?
-
• #467
Exmoor. I emailed them about transport. Basically there is none and I don't feel like riding another 50mi to/from the start to do this - I'd not planned to do it just thought it'd be fun to 'cross another one off'. Not heard of any others - www.cyclesport.org might list them? I think they usually shut 'em down over winter since numbers would be low, conditions poor. They start again in Feb after the Reliability rides.
Anyone got a van and wants to drive me/us to Exmoor? :)

Oi hippy. Check out the comic this week. Michael Hutchinson was on the Autumn Epic with you. Four pages - though the pics aren't as good as yours...

cliveo*, thought you might be interested in some training rides..
The dates for our events in 2009 have been fixed - the Epic Cycles Spring Challenge will be Saturday 14th March (limited to 200 entries), the Devil Ride will be Sunday 12th July (750 entries and a new event centre), and the Autumn Epic (1000 entries) will be Sunday 4th October. The online entry system for the Spring Challenge will open in early December, with the other two going live in the New Year. * -
