cliveo*, thought you might be interested in some training rides..*
*The dates for our events in 2009 have been fixed - the Epic Cycles Spring Challenge will be Saturday 14th March (limited to 200 entries), the Devil Ride will be Sunday 12th July (750 entries and a new event centre), and the Autumn Epic (1000 entries) will be Sunday 4th October. The online entry system for the Spring Challenge will open in early December, with the other two going live in the New Year. *Hippy
Thanks for these. I will look into the Spring Challenge at least.
I have just been in a meeting at which it was suggested that no one should take any holiday from March to June (inclusive). I pulled rank. My week in Ireland is now the only exception.

What was the crack with this years signing on, Paul? Two years ago you had to sign in on the previous day, thus involving an overnight stay. That was my first ever sportive and I went in a bit unprepared. About 2 miles after turning up the 120 mile route I wished I hadn't.

Not sure, as I booked on line about March, but yes it definitely requires an overnight stay. I paid £30 for a good B&B. The start is 9.00am for registering.

I might do the Dragon Ride if it doesn't clash with anything. It'll be a piece of piss after the last two Welsh sportives.
Dave Lloyd Mega holds a bit more appeal though as it is ridiculously unsuited to my, ahem, gravity battling nature.. 5000m climbing, 240k :)
Of course I'm now missing another turbo session sitting in this fucking office.
-
• #490
With all this overtime you must be getting paid for* can you not buy another turbo for the office and train there too?
*you do get overtime don't you?
-
• #491
Yeah, I'm getting a turbo.. it has been decided. I just don't have enough fucking time to choose one.
Really should have a look instead of typing this shit eh? :)Kurt Kinetic from On-One?

If you're the fox, then God knows what myself, my brother, and Brett are! We're off at 9am. You'll all probably pass me at the halfway mark.

I've entered the Burgis Hill Sportive, Etape Calidonia and Etape du Tour. Also want to do the Dragon Ride and London Phonex Sportive but not entered these yet.
Might try some of the early reliability rides too.
This is definately going to be my year of the road bike!
