We're relying upon you to supply the bath on a 4-wheel pram chassis for the 'hilarious' chase scene.

• #26578
When is this planned for
We need the sun -
• #26579
We need the sun
Firstly, let's just establish that no-one has ever needed a Murdoch publication.
It's Thursday: therefore it is Wests.
I'm just about to leave The Glory that is Ruislip,
collect @NorthLondonLight on the way,
and rendezvous at a socially distance
with @Sifta at ShepBush,
then hopefully meet up with you and @moorhen at/near the Scrubs.Sound like a plan?
-
• #26580
Sounds promising.
Moorhen is out and I have a Zoom thing soon. So we'll see how we go... -
• #26581
This is a bit of a shock to me, I hadn’t realised it was Thursday
-
• #26582
@NorthLondonLight @Sifta
@skydancer @moorhenThat worked out rather well!
Additions for next week: maybe +5C or less breeze, or a home journey windjacket. -
• #26583
Yes good to experience a pub vibe.
It's been a while
Happy birthday you old crab apple, medlar or whatever
Good booze and heated conversation.
Yes let's do it again
#westslives -
• #26584
Thanks for coming and finding us. I had forgotten all about it seems skydancer had too!

In retrospect,
the evening struck me as almost theatrically Shakespearean.
5 people who clearly knew each other, maintaining exaggerated distancing
allowing great sightlines to any onlooker,
an unquantifiable hidden threat, (brexit) that has been rendered commonplace
by an additional unseeable threat with immediate menace, (C-19),
that meant the setting, a windblown, cool heath, was as safe a place as could be found. We had a recognition of a long term acquaintanceship,
a slight celebration,
and a space for a non-attending guest ( @hippy ),
and,
reference and reverence to a distinctly (socially) distant cyclomath ( @Oliver Schick ).
And,
there's a PtII next week! -
• #26587
there's PtII next week
Yes, Pr1t1 (Patel) may be coming next week
-
• #26588
I'm assuming a serving Cabinet Member let alone a Home Secretary
would be a first for wests? -
• #26589
I'll make more of an effort to get my turbo done on time (on work time) :)
Is there any parks near PoH? There must be that Acton park, right? Is that no good? Or is WW better?
-
• #26590
Is there any parks near PoH?
Continuing east from Pint of Hops,
over the level crossing at Acton Central,
there was a park on the south side of the road.
(No idea the name of this park,
I worked in North Acton over the A40,
and, these days, just view Acton as the slow moving High Street
between Ealing and ShepBush). -
• #26591
no idea the name of this park,
Err Acton Park?
Has pitch and putt
-
• #26592
More importantly, the name of the chippy and pizza place?
-
• #26593
The chippy is The Savoy
The pizza place is listed as Lolas Cafe East Acton -
• #26594
Didn't know if it was 'Goldsmiths' Park',
or had a more local name than 'Acton'. -
• #26595
Sean Connery used to live in Acton

-
• #26596
Returned via Savoy Circus this afternoon.
Didn't visit either place this time. -
• #26597
Presume it was handy for both outer London film studios
and
West End shenanigans. -
• #26598
Wednesday morning bump.
Scrubs or Acton Park?
or, for those with better local knowledge,
any other Acton park? -
• #26599
This week?
Weather looks to be better than today,
just cloudy, but no rain forecast.
Early-ish start in an Acton Park?

I’m WFH for the foreseeable - shouldn’t think I’ll be over west (where the office is) for some time. Don’t mind being tagged at all, just excusing my ongoing absence!
