Strolled round the canal with a (non-cycling) mate from Greenford to Regents Park this week. The place across the water from the Grand Junction Arms, Beit al Zaytoun, which we observed building a further extension, was our choice for lunch.
Odd place. Set up like an upmarket Kamil Bakery, offering the thin 'pizzas' but with full on (meat) restaurant and seating for 100+. Mate had Chicken shawarma, baba ghanoush for me.
Good texture + taste. -

ha ha yeah Beit al Zaytoun is a gem - lovely place!
I am going there for dinner tomorrow with a Lebanese/Palestinian friend.
I am hoping to make it to the Red Lion next Thursday - I'll have to play it by ear though.btw Sloe Gin seemed to do the trick - as it was a gift, I filtered off the sloes for appearance's sake, but I assume for personal consumption leaving them in is better? Thanks again @mespilus!

The last extension towards the canal was not quite finished on Tuesday.
I'm told the filtered out sloes served under proper custard are a Chef's bonus!
Yeah, tend to leave them in, with the daily agitation to drag the last bit of flavour/colour into the spirit.
I'm guessing your gift still looked impressively purple?
Would be good if you could make it to Stii-Yaahhll.

Picked up more today so will save a few.
Some are already rotten and brown so no need to freeze those. Ready to eat -

Enjoy, without doubt the best fruit growing in the UK. -

The notional 18.30 start was designed to allow commuters to drop in on the way home. I'm not certain it will have any uptake.
I'm aiming to be there to 'guard' the large table. -
