@ Jeez
They're privately owned and run it themselves, they can speak to and treat customers how they like, they have no-one to answer to - they must deal with tits everyday of the week, they have the right to sort the wheat from the chaff. For every whinging customer there's 10 happy ones. I worked in retail years ago and believe me, I had complaints about me to my manager, even made some chutney cry but 9 x outta 10 the customer is/was a tit
I've had AWFUl service from so called 'ace bike shops' in London, it's all down to the individual shop worker(s) at that time. That's life, if you don't get a decent service go somewhere else FFS -

@Pistinator, not sure why you feel you need to hurl abuse into the guys direction?
What he describes pretty much reflects how I have experienced the shop in question. Ok, I didn't sign up to a form to vent, but clearly calling people a liar and a cunt is a bit much?@DJ, you unbanned then?

I am not sure I can. I thought it was 'Chutney Ferret' a term of homphobic abuse you were using. Are you saying it was actually a racist comment and you were referring to an asian lady?
Chutney Mary rhymes with 'Fairy'

I have absolutely no idea what you are on about.
I know it is pointless but I try to pick up on racism and / or homphobia when I see it because I deeply dislike both things. I genuinely have not got a clue what you really meant but I strongly suspect that there was a racist or homophobic element underlying it and I don't like it.
It is probably as well to leave it there. Unless you wish to write proper sentences explaining exactly what you meant and / or believe. And even then it is probably pointless as you have changed your story already so I can't believe a word you say.
You're easily confused aren't you?

The one and only time I have been in Chutney Mary it was full of white blokes in suits supping Cobra beers no doubt funded by their fat expense accounts.
The most expensive rip off ever : £100 for two people and in there for about 1 hour.
Not going back

Stopped at Edwardes on the way in to work today. They were nice to me. That is all.

Yes I am very confused, apart from about how little I want to meet you.
There's no point trying to argue with Pistanator. He's just a none too bright gobshite. As well as a misogynist, homophobe and, judging by this post "There was some arab cunt drivng round Soho the other night in one of those new Mercedes AMG 'gullwing' things in matte black, convertible, hood down, did two 'laps' of Wardour St, Broadwick St etc so everyone could get a good look" a racist too.
He's also a coward. He would never call a gay man a Mary to his face. Would you Pistanator? -

I'm not going to read the to and fro of Edwardes slagging-off and bigging-up since last visiting this thread, all I can say is, since working in a bikeshop for a month or so, I can fully understand why Edwardes may seem off to some people, on some occasions. But here's the thing guys; they're real people. When working at a corporate retail shop, I can't be myself, dare I say it, I even have to lie to the customer because it simply isn't worth it to us, from a monetary point of view, to help them out.
I can never see Edwardes doing this, in fact, I've always got brutally honest advice from them and respect them for it. I don't rank Edwardes as up-there as BrixtonCycles in terms of LBS hero's, but they do a good job and are nice to me... probably because I don't expect a faux smile and a "how are you today sir?" even though the guy might've had an awful day and couldn't give a fuck about anything other than sitting down and putting his feet up with a brew.
I know who Purple Aki is, I no need wikipedia linky
