George at Edwardes is flogging his wheels. Velocity rims on what I think were Royce hubs with some rather blingy Ti spokes. Used for his to-ing and fro-ing from Lewisham to the shop, little else (looked pretty much new). They're asking £200 for them. Left hand side above the till.

There's also a Giant Omnium frameset in a small for £279. I know that this is only a couple of quid away from what they paid for it on trade. Bargainous.

Careful edwardes, a while ago they had a dura-ace/h+son rear with a cracked flange for sale with no warning of any issues. Bad Edwardes! Naughty! Dont. Do. It. Again.

I know this thread is dead old, but as a something of a Camberwell vet, I thought I'd share my experiences.
I've had positive and negative experiences at Edwardes. The staff seem to range from pretty stand-offish to very helpful. The owner guy (poss called Gary?) seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder. When I enquired about them fitting some parts I got 2nd hand elsewhere, he didn't seem so impressed that I hadn't bought parts from there - despite the fact that I was providing business for the workshop.
That said, another member of staff was a great help, very chatty, and outside the boss' earshot, told me what a bargain I'd got on said part on ebay.On the flipside, on of the great things about Edwardes is that they seem to be happy to work metal. Another bike of mine (trial bike) had stripped brake threads on the frame, and they did a perfect job of helicoiling it all, for a very good price.
I'm not familiar with their roadies / fixie stock, but I'm thinking of getting a new track frame, so might call in this weekend for a browse.

Been in to them a bit recently, had good service each time.

I used them back in the late 90's early 00's when for about five years when I worked down there and used to commute past them. I thought the owner was a really nice guy. He once got a welding shop across the road to make me some roof rack attachments for wheels from some old forks he had knocking around and persuaded the campag rep to sell me a left hand crank on it's own.

Technically it's a shit shop. Chooses its customers, like most old time family businesses do. If you're the right customer, though, you'll be fine.

I've had mixed experiences there. Usually good. Saying that they managed a pretty shit job on sorting out some gears on a bike of mine (riding bmx, gears don't come too easily to me). Always friendly though, certainly had worse LBS's in the past!

I've heard them be rude to others, but not had a problem myself. Even given me a few quid of here and there.
