This morning: a guy riding a steel ladies step-through frame converted to fixed, with white Deep V wheelset and a mad cockpit: porteur bars reversed as bullhorns and aero TT extensions clipped on. Amazing.

my fingers are badly chapped right now, i can't understand riding gloveless in these conditions

It actually helps you to anticipate the cold, and the heightened awareness allows you to pick the perfect grip; plus you ride a little more slowly than if you ran gloves. Doesn't spoil the clean lines of your digits either.

Digger on OKR yesterday, and I think Clever Pun on Loampit Vale this morning... at least, calf tattoos were involved, but hat and buff coverage prevented facial recognition. Black condor, anyway.
yup that was me... Didn't see you at all. I might need a more wintery version of the neck warmer as it was still fecking cold around the face. Assos winter glove system kept my hands super toasty.
riding with 3/4s isn't that bad, not much meat on the shin to get cold, but I'm giving serious consideration to longs next week. Wouldn't want to rush into anything
Saw one nodder with only footy shorts covering his legs which were going really pink

With some people it takes a very bad experience to learn from their mistakes.
Double gloved this morning and still got to work feeling like Edward Scissorhands given the amount of co-ordination i had left in the ends of my fingers.
Legs have got to be on show though. HTFU!
I'd ride in speedos except my ankles freeze.
You won't be pretending to be charlie big potatoes when you fuck a ligament.
I learned the hard way.

Understandable; I was in disguise on a 69er mtb and wearing a ridiculous furry hat.
Neck warmer: I highly recommend 320g/m² merino. Anything less and my face feels like it's falling off.

I should really just do OKR, I think Jamaica's getting worse.

Is there's baselayer that's rated at 320? the highest I found is 260.
-
• #52718
Icebreaker do 320 buffs and baselayers.
-
• #52719
They're Icebreaker, their latest stuff isn't as good as the old one I have sadly.
-
• #52720
Maybe that's because they put all their effort into making the 320 stuff you didn't know about now.
-
• #52721
By 320 it can't be called a baselayer surely? It's jersey/jumper thickness
-
• #52722
Depends on what climate you'll be wearing it in!
