I bumped into a girl last night who's part of the group on london bridge @ 9:30pm. She'd been at the momo conference and had a old peugeot. gave me a telling off for having a shit lock.
hope to see you around.

Spotted quite a few roadie douchebags (some were fatter than hippy) as well as loads of Christian hippies on MTBs doing the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage... What have I missed? Could someone point me to the most hilarious threads? Inexplicably, my knees really, really hurt after five days off the bike... Good to be back... Available for slacker beers tomorrow afternoon...

Already up to speed, in training now with my first can of Scrumpy Jack... See ya there... I really missed Brixton Tesco while I was away... My therapist has decided to make an emergency house call on hearing the news... I've decided I fucking love London... Again...

TeeTee>>>
It was:-)
I love complementing people on their bikes! Though i do find ppl react almost the same way they would on the tube. I think this should be stopped here! That is why we cycle, so that we dont get into the same frame of mind as public transport users. And (not sexest) i think girl cyclists tend to have beautiful legs - so i totally agree with you! (is this the right place to say FTW?)
If i actually knew where i was... I certainly would keep an eye out for you. See if you can spot a (aaarrrggghhh) black Unipak with red rims. Most of the time Im in a sleeveless and have a cap on. If you could tell me, i wouldnt mind adding variation to my route, just i need a place to start when it comes to google maps.

The Townsend Thoresen ferry The Herald of Free Enterprise was the one that capsized, in March 1987.

Yes, Mihara, not all women feel the same about getting attention based on their looks. I didn't say that men shouldn't talk to or think that women on bikes are pretty, that would be silly.
Likewise, I'm not saying that you shouldn't talk to people, regardless of their gender, while your out riding (having said that I would prefer not to be approached before I've had my coffee, unless you like to be answered in grunts and gestures).
I know that you are new to the forum and may not realize that, although you are completely comfortable with that kind of attention, many other female forumgers aren't impressed and some really don't like it.
It has been a repeated request by myself and other female riders to be treated more like riders than like females, a big part of this is by mentioning when you see female riders (just like when you see male riders) without making a big deal out of their appearence. As myself and others have expressed before, even if you don't understand it, even if you do understand it but you personally feel differently, please respect the way that other people feel. It's great that you all are seeing so many women riding, let's focus on the amount of totally awesome women there are out there on bikes and not on how hot they are. We all know that they are, anyways :-)
