hmmm sounds like a good idea,
my only concern is i havent done a real distance in 4 years, and a considerable amount of beer and tobacco has passed through the system...im going for my "refresh" ride tomorrow to assess the damage uni life has had on my body ha!
well ill definitely try to turn up to the meeting place at the start time to check out your bikes and say hello, tbh ill probably end up going so yeah count me in.

Sal, I've converted a Record Sprint to a single speed. Easily done. Depends on wheels. If they are in good nick you could get the rear re-dished and run it as a single speed using the existing sugino cranks. might need a new chain. if the wheels are crap you're looking at least a new hub or possibly new rear wheel. anything from £25-100 depending on which route you go. Go see Baker Street, they'll sort you out.

i have a doppelle ganger eh....
saw a guy walk past me today with a light blue/green conversion...maybe a new face? he looked a little too cool for school though! haha maybe the hipsterfactor is starting to rub off on some brightonions.... or maybe they just think that we look so good the they are trying to get in with the cool kids.......hmmm maybe not -

Hi guys,
I just finished Uni and got my degree and a thicker gut to boot. So getting back into cycling ha. I just got a bike Ive been after for a while but its not a fixed wheel yet. Pic from catalog here:

Was wondering how much it will cost me for the conversion or if anyone could maybe show me how in return for beer.
I used to ride a Giant Carbon (forget model now) and I had my mate put in a SS freewheel (was a flipflop but fixed option scared me since one of the downhills I was easliy clocking 60kmph) which I loved very much but had to sell it to pay for fees (cry) but that was when I used to do TTs in the north downs (kent).
So yeah any advise on the cheapest way to get my record sprint into a fixed wheel in brighton would be very much appreciated.
Also I was one of those hipsters with a crazy shopper with the plastic tray on the back (shame) but I dont ride it anymore after I made the foolish mistake of parking it in front of True (formely creation) where it got ripped apart, literally...fuking animals!
