Looking forward to the Southover Climb. I'm sure I've seen something on t'interweb about a traditional Southover hill climb, but damned if I can find it now.
I decided that I want to make hill-climbing one of my training goals for the summer (proviso: I've never done any 'training' in my life). Found these tips from our resident hill climbing star, might come in handy.

gonna go for a ride one oclock tommorow if anyone fancies it, most likely go for a spin on the ss mtb if anyone fancies some off roading,
Though could easily be persuaded to take the fuji for a spin if a few of you are free

Hi folks, met a few of you last weds on the ride up the dyke. I'm Tom (on the brown surly). Had a rad ride, was really nice to meet you. This Southover sprint sounds harsh but funny, I'm up for it (not sure if I'm up to it though).

ADVICE PLEASE
dunno whether all of you've seen the thread about a BBQ day in Brighton. Lebowski proposed August 2nd, and the suggestion is we go up Hove way to get a better beach and more space.
It also means people can travel back Hove station - BUT August 2nd is also Pride and Brighton trains will be packed. Me n Kelvin have posted on the thread saying that Hove station should be better/OK... but what does everyone here think?
We don't wanna be left carrying the can if people can't get home!

lol good point max... to be honest think it'll be fine it's a different line effectively plus pride is busy but no worse than a really sunny weekend in august anyways
-
• #393
not sure, I'd probably say no to pride weekend. it gets so manic. but then i live in kemptown!
-
• #394
reckon pride weekend could be a bad idea... probably best to check with southern/first capital to see if they're allowing bikes at all. i'll look into it.
btw. did the steyning 10 TT this evening. clocked a pretty slow time, but really really good fun, nice people & well organised. think i'll make it a weekly outing. plus i just aquired a new wheel - mavic 3G, 650 tubular. it's ridiculously quick! shame i'm not...

I assume you used the TT bike? I will try and come down to this one night. Did you drive over?
oh and max, spotted your bike yesterday on boyce street.

yeah, used the TT bike. it was the only bike over three years old, and probably the only one not made from carbon. cervelo p2's, pinarello FT's, Issac's etc. just absurd. and most had discs. proper bike envy...
i'm almost certainly going next week, but i don't think there'll be much room in the car for another person & bike. Kai might be able to take a bike or two, seeing as he loves driving anywhere! or you could ride out - it wouldn't take much over 40 mins.

i think i might need to make a bike more suitable first.
you should get your colleague to go down. his carbon speed machine would fit right in!

i did actually go there with him - pinarello FT1, corima disc & 4 spoke. sick sick set-up. needless to say, he went faster than me...
