The fact I've been absolutely shattered most of this week and It's only Weds. This is what happens when you have a late one on a Sunday.

when you have as little hair left as me it's not worth getting an expensive haircut. i tend to go to one of the £7 barbers for a "number 2 back and sides, little trim on top and don't go too high on the sides please". so the first thing the mad pole with the clippers does is go "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!" right up the side of my head and past the border between "side" and "top". the result being that i now look like a bouncer (from the ears up). i look like somone's sharpened my head!

and i'm stuck like this for the next couple of weeks at least till it grows out.

..rodents. There's been a lot of building work around here recently and it seems to have upset the local rat population, some of whom have decided to move in to my fucking house, bringing equally unwelcome mice with them. Horrible, horrible little bastards, the lot of them. Eat that poison and fucking die!

Thanks. You're not the first person to recommend these so I'll investigate further. Just had to chase one of the little bastards out the kitchen. Grrr.

Are the local authorities not obliged to remove them?

Our local authority offer a subsidised pest control service for £51, so we've had them in and they've placed poison in various places. We've also identified how they're accessing the house but have been advised to wait for a couple of weeks before we block that off as that gives the poison time to take effect and will, hopefully, avoid them dying underneath the floorboards.

I fucking hate rats though, so having to cohabitat with the buggers is doing my head in, plus with the baby you don't want them around as everything she can get her hands on goes straight into her mouth at the moment.

The pest controller chap who came yesterday reckons they'll only smell bad for a fortnight. Not sure I want to test this theory.

Just went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea and there's a rat scuttling along the worktop towards the sink. Fucker. I grab the mop, nearest thing to hand, and corner him but he scuttles past as as I move in to wash him to death, and has disappeared down a hole in the floorboards behind the freezer. That hole is now blocked.

Have had a couple of infestations am a big fan of "the little nipper", classic mouse trap, the rats freak me though, don't know if there's a big nipper?
