I think what helps, particularly with relatively newcomers like me, is seeing the work you're putting into microcosm. There is a good thing going on here and people can see progression in the future, plus the club being formed, there is a lot to look forward to and is we'll worth investing that little bit into.

Just out of interest, is there any way to donate outside of Paypal?
I despise Paypal with a passion and would rather they not get their disgusting fingers on so much as a penny from me. But I will if I have to!
Also going to sell some stuff I've been meaning to flog off for ages and just give all the money to the forum.

Maybe a donation of £0.001 per post would be good. Might reduce a lot of waffle ... or not!
Ha! A suggestion from way back.(I'm not stalking, just searching for something unrelated, honest.)
Now imagining a world in which comment is chargeable, a blabber tax, if you will. Double for bad language, triple for bad grammar.
I'm sure we all know a few who'd quickly become mute.

The football thread will generate 90% of the forums income if that happened.

I can give you direct bank transfer details via PM.
I do this for those who wish to donate privately as well as anonymously... as in, not being credited with the gold star on LFGSS, not using PayPal or another payment provider, etc.
You'll need to confirm afterwards whether you want the gold star, and also the amount so I can verify that I've received it.

When do you get paid back for all the cash you've lent LFGSS?
-
• #614
It's a credit card I've been throwing it on. Now that this month is paid there's no urgency, I'll pay it when I can. I don't charge LFGSS the interest accrued as some of that bill is mine too and it's a headache to try and do the maths on which part of the interest belongs to the forum costs and which part is mine.
Realistically, probably in a couple of weeks time.

We have just hit target.
Meaning we've received donations that cover the last 6 months of shortfall as well as enough to cover the entirety of the bills this month.
We're in the black.
The huge surge has largely tailed off to usual levels now, but from now on... every donation for the rest of this month moves us more comfortably into the black.
I'll still leave the banner up at the top of the page for a week or so more. It's better to have a buffer than to immediately stop at the target.
Oh, and yes... that means I'm going to wipe out the portion of my credit card bill that has been racked up by LFGSS costs. So I can go back to being able to put my own groceries on the card :)
Same... Nudged the SE Beers
