Awesome. Great effort all round.

I'll still leave the banner up at the top of the page for a week or so more. It's better to have a buffer than to immediately stop at the target.
Good news vb
Maybe you should make the banner title reflect the change in situation -

@Velocio, I'm guessing your eBay revenue was a bulk of the affiliate revenue. If so the lack of it picking back up was down to a few changes eBay made in their affiliate programme.
It used to be that someone clicking on an eBay link had a cookie for 7 days and anything they bought in that 7 days gave you a cut. This covered my hosting costs and also provided a bit of money for competitions/advertising.
Since September however they've reduced that to 24 hours so anyone that snipes an auction (90% of people) won't result in you getting paid if it's outside the 24 hours since they clicked your link, I personally saw my revenue drop 90%.
-
• #635
That sounds very likely and corresponds to the time of the drop.
We've dropped by over a half, but eBay was indeed our primary revenue stream. It now brings in a similar amount to Rapha on their own... which is to say, very little compared to what it used to bring in (more than all other schemes combined).

So - we should try and post either BIN links or links to items finishing the same day in the ebay/craigslist thread?
-
• #637
That would certainly bump the revenue, but I think people should just be linking to stuff of quality and of interest even if we don't get the revenue.
-
• #638
I know its been mentioned but would be really great to have the affiliates page as a button, i have a link to it (from this thread) but no idea how to find it without!
Also i didn't know it existed until today and i for one will definitely use it. :) -

Not much but just put an offer on a house. Looking at 25yrs of the same skintness as now but owning more and more of the roof over my head instead of lining a landlord's pocket.
Ftfy, good news!

Is it possible to donate without PayPal? I have no desire for a PayPal account. Usually when directed to PayPal to pay for things I choose the pay by credit card option. When trying to donate all I see is the option to pay by PayPal with an account.
Sorry if this has been covered before.

Just out of interest, is there any way to donate outside of Paypal?
I despise Paypal with a passion and would rather they not get their disgusting fingers on so much as a penny from me. But I will if I have to!
Also going to sell some stuff I've been meaning to flog off for ages and just give all the money to the forum.
I can give you direct bank transfer details via PM.
I do this for those who wish to donate privately as well as anonymously... as in, not being credited with the gold star on LFGSS, not using PayPal or another payment provider, etc.
You'll need to confirm afterwards whether you want the gold star, and also the amount so I can verify that I've received it.

eBay are really turning the screw on everyone. They recently added a flat 10% final value fee to shipping costs too.

eBay is a business.

Paypal funds updated so time to up the subscription frequency.
Does choosing a new subscription overwrite and cancel the old one? I couldn't find a cancel function in Paypal to get rid of the existing one? -
• #645
I don't believe it does as I've seen a few people with simultaneous subscriptions. I put a link up a couple of pages back to where I think in PayPal you can manage this.
-
• #646
Thanks, missed that the first time around.

• #647
Donated, will take a look at the affiliate program as well..
-
• #648
Donated. Will try and set up a rolling donation when funds allow.
