  • I could not say this with better words...

    what he say

go on Rik. i reckon you could put it much better, add a few pictures and more cuss words

  • This forum has been responsible for introducing me to the vast majority of people that I now call friends. I'd have never met my housemates without this place and I certainly would be in a poorer emotional state without Londonfgss. I've said it before but thank you, I truely mean that.

I have withdrew my donation.... i just remembered it's the forums fault that I have to put up with you

"I have withdrawn my donation". Didn't they teach you anything at hairdressing school.

Don't practice on your own hair. I think Pip missed that lesson. ;p

  • What if I just post "Ha!" in every thread to save on bandwidth?

    Ha!

  • I'd have never met my housemates without this place

Blimey, did you have the type of house before where everybody listened for noises in the corridor before opening their door, quickly rushed out in order not to meet anyone, and you never saw the people you knew were there? Sounds like it. ;)

  • Oh, and if someone wants to donate a version of the donate button that flashes and grabs people's attention... ;)

  • If it just had the word 'donate' somewhere in there!

No. I lived on my own, living with people is more fun.

  • [/wipes tea from screen]

    Very good sir.

  • Hahaha. Good effort.

  • or the tynan version...

  • or the tynan version...

Surely that should have some version of 'Donate if you believe that God does not exist/Velocio is God' in it?

Should be "Donate to the Mosque Debate Fund" then

  • VB, how much else to get where you wanna get???

  • or the tynan version...

    That'll be the one.

Looks like some ZX Spectrum game.

  • Can't you make it say "Show me the money... Baby Lord Jesus"

Rik has a point but its contentious... we need need to know if we have raised enough but it would be good to have extra money over for further upgrades/hidden costs (like a slush fund) to hitting target could mean we have to raise more later in the year.

But not having the target means we can’t put something like this on the forum front page!

    Manic Miner!

Having just checked... less than £30 more to cover the outlay on the CDN thing.

I'll leave the icon as the flashing one this evening and any extra tops up the monthly server fees for a while.

When the flashy icon is gone, so is the urgency.

  • If we donate enough cash, will the godawful flashing stop?

I had one of those for the Bowlie funding thing. Pain in the arse it was... I had to update a local database every time a donation came in. It meant that it was nearly always slightly out of date, and that I was spending tons of time updating it.

The target was the CDN costs... £180-ish (or whatever that dollar amount I said earlier was). But any extra just goes into the paypal account and sits there covering server fees each month.

So there's no top to the fund raising thermometer, as any extras just support the usual costs. Today was about doing something to pay for this exceptional one-off cost, but if there is extra then it reduces pressure to panic about the reserves in the paypal and adsense revenues (which are still declining, have been since last September when the crunch happened).

    Yes!
