ta - will look at the MKS ones.
thanks tynan - ive always called them tensioners rather than tugs, but i see thats confusing now.

dude, you know track chains shouldn't be as tight as BMX ones?

Aren´t you´re suppose to have them tight for a short while says a couple weeks to allow it to wear properly before loosing the chain?
-
• #630
RPM - yep, i guessed that, but im thinking it needs to be tight enough not to feel it slip very slightly when you use the pedals to brake.

Mks dude

mks make sure you get the right size, there is one size for steel frames ( thinner ) and one for aluminium, approx 5mm and 8mm i think
-
• #633
What about the Surly Tugnut or the Spot Brand Rocket? They open beer too!
-
• #634
mks 5mm

One on the left, allen key version...FTW

If something is slipping, its not cause your chain is loose, it cause your sprocket / cog is loose, tighten it up, then tighten up the lockring before you try any more skids, otherwise you will ruin your hub.

Ahhh! so that's where i was going wrong!! it's a tug not a tensioner
thanks -

Does anyone know what the lugs are called on this frame? They look to be fairly ornate with small 3 spear/leaf decoration. Just curious like. Ta.
Connoisseur
-
• #639
The conoisseur looks rather nice.
Think it would look better with curved fork legs though.
Also its a bit odd using modern generic brake levers yet still having downtube gear shifting?
-
• #640
the conoisseur it so cool it is retro and classic french colour sweet

I never really understand integrated seat tubes can some one please explain them for the retarded? 9er thats me by the way...)
It's to do with not losing power through flex of the seatpost under pedalling force. The ISP is made of directionally weaved carbon. See?

• #642
I don't think the seatpost/frame on the fuji track is long enough. :o -
• #643
Hello,
Just wondering what upgrades people have made to their fuji tracks?
cheers!
-
• #644
err.. choped the stock bars for when i go anywhere, pair of nitto risers for teh tricks...errr... and a 17t sprocket.
i fail to see why i should spend money on a cheap bike
-
• #645
I know a bloke who changed his pedals...
-
• #646
First I changed the saddle. Next I changed the frame, bottom bracket and stem. After that the seat post, then the handlebars. Next the cranks. All I'm left with is the wheels.
-
• #647
i changed the stem, bars, pedals, saddle then the frame
-
• #648
Wheelset, saddle, stem & bars.... oh and toeclips/straps but kept the pedals...
And the reason for your enquiry is....?
-
• #649
I decided not to invest too much in upgrades so just saddle. tyres & sprocket for me. Realised it is a better course of action to put better bits on a better frame and started building up the next project on that basis.

usually the way I do it is simply upgrade the bike a lots, even with compound that too good for the frame, so when I buy a new better frame, all I have to do is simply swap it round.
that's as long you know that certain part will fit in the next frame.
I rate the MKS chain tugs hubjub sell.
