26.0 clamp, if you care (fairly standard road bar diameter - not 25.4 like track stuff, such as Nitto B123s, for example).

Cheers turpe, you sure though? It's annoying not having the bike to measure. It's the 2008 model, the supplier left me a message saying it was an OS clamp for bars but I think that's slightly odd and would have expected it to be 26. Now I'm confuddled.

I'm fairly certain. Maybe throw an email to one of the online stockists to be 100% sure.
-
• #405
the 2008 is 25.4

WTF
both of those sizes are standard as they are (basically) the only sizes that a stem, head tube, or steerer tube come in.
-
• #409
Cool. Standard it is then. Thanks chaps.
-
• #410
doesn't look 31.8 , the supplier must be mistaken.

The chainring on the bowery is seemingly made from a pie tin.

warning, i think the fuji people use locktite on their lockrings and sprockets. tried to change mine, lockring was insanely hard to remove and bike shop couldnt get sprocket off at all, although they only had 10mins as were closing, told me to try hot water.

had no trouble with mine.

mine broke my brand new dura ace track lock ring tool... came off fairly easy with rotofix though
-
• #415
How the fuck did it break that?! It's thicker than my arm! Even my phil wood lockring that was tightened using the rotational force of the earth succumbed (eventually) to the dura-ace tool!
(Thanks again to cavendish cycles, for pointing out i was tightening rather than loosening)

lol,
my arm/spine/soul would break before a DA lockring tool!
cogs threadlocked on should actually come off nicely. It's when no grease or threadlock has been used when you've got a problem.
-
• #417
snoops: get a big pipe and stick it over the end of your lockring spanner. the more leverage the more power you can impart to the lockring. something about a stick and a planet?

The lock ring on the da tool was fine, was the chainwhip that went.
I think the sea air was more at fault for it not budging than anything else though.
The chain whip broke at the rivet which attached the tool I spose i could just remove that link

i asked edwardes to remove a totally seized 16t on my bob jackson. he used a chainwhip and a 4ft lenght of scaffolding pole attached to the chainwhip to get it off, and the old man looked like he had herniated his duodenum whilst doing so.

OK, going to get a Fuji Track 2008 this coming week and wanted some advice on whether to go for the 58cm or 61cm frame, the two biggest sizes they do. Have measured my inside leg from crotch to floor (barefoot), works out at 34.5/35 inches. And had a look at a variety of online sizing calculators but advice seems to be conflicting; for example one suggests the following:
Inside leg = **32-36"Frame size = **58cm
**Inside leg = 34-38"Frame size = **62cmThe above means I could ride either a 58 or a 61 with my inside leg measurement falling in both camps. I'm guessing it would be better to go for the 58 as it's better on the body not to have too big a frame. But never having ridden a Fuji Track and not knowing anyone who has I wondered if any of you lot might have some good advice on which size to go for. Ta muchly.

look at the top tube length
see which one suits u better -
• #422
depends how long your arms/torso are as well.
do you normally prefer to ride bigger or smaller frames? what do you normally ride?
i'm 181cm tall (5'11.5") and i ride a 56cm 2007 Track, but i like my frames on the small side.

Rule of thumb on track bikes is go small. They have high bottom brackets and therefore high standover heights, and they're supposed to be small & aglile.
You can usually put the seat-up or put a longer stem on, but a frame that is too big is a bloody pain.

i have same inside leg as you, im just over 6 foot 2 and the 61 cm fits me fine, everyone here will give you a differing opinion and i think you will come out more unsure of sizing than you are now, there is an official fuji size chart which would put you in the 61cm bracket i think, i trusted that and its worked out fine.

thats handy.. im 6ft2, and have been told 58s would be ok... i should be pushing for a 61 then..... dammit, gonna be even harder to find in japan!
Cancel that request. Have now found out after some digging (Ritchey threadless 1 1/8" if anyone else needs to know). Just being my usual impatient self!
Oh, look a conversation on my own. Note to self, must stop talking to self. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!
