i got an invite cos i do some campaigning work in the east end.

but i did not go. events like that make me a bit nervous / dubious. like what is life really about ?

and it would have been difficult getting out of work. we are very busy at the moment.

The event was nothing special, but (no news to anyone) it's obviously a very nice building.

Riders present (if I remember correctly) were Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Jason Kenny, Shanaze Reade, Ross Edgar, Becky James, David Daniell, Jess Varnish, Pete Mitchell, and Matt Crampton (in no particular order).

They rode around for a bit before and after the ceremony. Victoria Pendleton wore sunglasses while riding around before the ceremony, in order not to be recognised, or does she have sensitive eyes? Since none of the other riders were wearing sunglasses, it was a bit of a giveaway. She must be getting a lot of unwanted attention.

The MC was the guy who's done a couple of Rollapaluzas--Anthony ? --I can't remember his surname. Speeches from John Armitt, Sebastian Coe, Chris Hoy and Tommy Godwin interviewed by the MC, the Mayor of London, Dave Brailsford, and Pat McQuaid, if I haven't forgotten anyone. All speeches were mercifully short.

Anyway, it was nice to have a look around.

I'm tempted to neg rep you for not killing Pat McQuaid in the face. At the very least you could've rustled up a posse of disgruntled trackies and we'd have come over and done it on behalf of the cycling community.

i had my interview for 2012 gamemaker this morning for bike events, i think it went okay.
Lots of great / difficult questions to answer, no sweat.

I did 30 laps that day, but I think I turned up later.

I did 40, and had to go home. The tiring thing was the effort needed to guarantee I got the same outside line at Clarey's each lap - I didn't want to be the cunt on fixed who brought the bunch down if I grounded a pedal.

46x16 worked well in that context. It was 11/11/06, I think.

Anyone know if there will be any pre-Olympics events at the Velodrome? Test/warm-up type sessions? I tried my best for tickets but failed.

I'd expect a round of the Track World Cup to be held there early next year.
