So the UCI world cup classic being used as a test event next february looks a bit cagey on the ticketing details.
The press release says just register on the olympic ticketing system and you should get a notification. I'm on that already but there's no details of test events or whether you have to go through that fucking ballot again.
UCI website has no ticketing details for it and the info button is greyed out.
Anyone know any more?

I have no idea where to put this event, but Mike Taylor who seems to do all the new velodrome talks, is speaking:
Cycling Night: How to break a world track record
The first event in the new season of The Engineering Club talks features Graeme Obree 'The Flying Scotsman', bicycle innovator and twice holder of the 1 hour world record with Mike Taylor of Hopkins Architects and Klaus Bode of BDSP, designers and engineers of cycling tracks both past and present. Together they will explore the design and technology required to break a world track record from the cyclists themselves and their bicycles, through to the racing track and environment.
Thursday 22 September 2011, 6.30pm, Building Centre, Store St.

Anyone got any volunteering roles? I just got the nod for FOP Course Marshall (The Mall) and FOP Crossing Marshall (Hampton Court Palace). The latter is self-explanatory but wondering if anyone knows what the former involves?

Coca Cola wants to be the legacy sponsor for the Velodrome and have the naming rights after the Games are over.

What's left of my enthusiasm for the games has fully evaporated today with the Guardian's report on security in London and how much of it will remain (big brother, we're here already), and knowing that what is left of legacy will all be big brand sponsored and more about business and money than grass root encouragement of sport.
I guess I shouldn't be so idealistic. Then I wouldn't be so disappointed in everyone, everything and all that is the London Olympics.

Thanks for the heads up. That was a good, if depressing, read.

While I never expected anything much, I could tell you a few stories from campaigning around them since 2002. :)

Corporate tickets to fund free use for school pupil
Sounds like a good plan...
Oh - just re-read - it is on the velodrome and not AT the velodrome which would have been much more interesting
