Just making sure. My wife opened a dispute once, but then forgot to escalate it to a claim :-/
Not much you can do now. They will wait for the seller to respond. If he ignores them, you will get the money back at some point. If he tries to wiggle out, they will ask you for the proof of postage and such.

In most of the cases they swiftly refund the money. eBay is very anti-seller at the moment, which sucks.
-
• #279
We'll see. Fucking pricks.
-
• #280
Did ebay not provide a time limit by which the seller has to respond by?
-
• #281
You see, the fact that the seller's ignoring you is good. You will get the refund by default if he fails to respond to PayPal within the given timeframe.

If they did, they didn't tell me about it. They just say "you don't have to do anything".
I don't like being told to sit back, relax and enjoy yourself. Fuck that, I want to know someone's account is being emptied. -

Double posting a bit, but this is the relevent thread:
- I won an item on eBay for ~27 quid, well below it's new value
- The seller hit "cancel sale" within minutes of the auction ending with reason "i have sold it to someone else"
- I emailed him asking what was going on, but he has not yet responded (but then it's not been that long)
- Is there any point in saying to him "no, you committed to sell it to me, where is my shower door?"

He sent me a message this morning:
you would be happy with 27£. These doors are worth a little more. Offer me a reasonable price
thanks tom- sadeckitomasz
So, he hasn't sold them, he just wants more money for them.

That's bullshit. Feed him to the fucking dogs.
I'm quitting ebay. It's full of fucking scum.

neg rep him and link to his youtube account. Then neg rep that too. Forget the shower doors and get a see thru curtain... Mm mm.

He should have:
a) Set a reserve
b) Started it at the price he was prepared to accept
c) BIN at the price he wantedHe started it at £0.99 with no reserve (I am assuming) because he wanted to limit the fee's he pays to eBay.
I cannot look at YouTube at work- what's on there, anything of interest?

Report him to eBay in the "resolution center". Refusing to send an item after a winning bid and then offering to sell outside of eBay are both taken seriously by eBay. Most likely that he will get his account banned.

No, just a crap vid of him fishing, all previous sales on ebay are fishing related.
-
• #291
If I do as Soul suggests, and eBay bans him, is that going to put a crimp in his fishing kit sales, or will he simply open a new account and carry on as before?
i.e. do I have a bargaining chip here, to say "I think you should honour the sale of the shower door, old chap"?

^ has he got a lot of feedback? If not, he will probably just start again...
-
• #293
403 I think. I might have that wrong, but he has the number 403 next to his user name, which I had always assumed to be amount of feedback that one has

Yup, that be feedback.
I would drop him an email saying that all sales are final and that offering a sale outside of eBay is a big no no.
Say that he should take a hit and move on. See what he does.

He just emailed me to say he'd take £50.
Hmm.
This is the item from an online shop http://www.plumbplanet.com/product/D30654

Doing it outside of eBay is always a bit dodgy but you can't complain at that price...
At least it's collection only so he can't take your money and run.
