Poor guy. Such an innocuous incident, and such an exciting rider.
Hard to tell what the crash was caused by, was avoiding the old dude sitting by the road something to do with it?

Feel for Sammy, that looked painful.

I think this is the problem with not having time bonuses. Really favours a conservative approach from the high GC riders, and doesnt make for enchanting racing.
I think that's only true in the first week and a half. On the other hand, lack of time bonuses does seem to have made it tighter at the front and a more honest race.

Thought Sanchez's teammate might have had some sort of mechanical, he slowed, pulled to the left and the others just ran into the back of him, taking out some spectators sat by the road side..

Great stage. Some real surprises. Nicely set up for tomorrow's TT
speaking of which, is it just me or is Sean Yates (ex Discovery Director and before that roluer domestique for THAT guy) on the gurn? I hope he hasnt had a stroke or anything but he's lost a lot of weight and cant seem to stand still or hold a consistent train of thought in any of his Sky interviews...
