Well no one waited for Cyril Gautier when he derailed...

  • I have, Mr O. You can borrow mine if you like.

  • ^^ that's different in a couple of ways.

  • I'm beginning to like Frank Schleck a little bit. Saw an interview yesterday were he said, no, I'm not going to get any better in this tour and admitted that he needs his brother there to cheer him up. Which is not the sort of candour you hear very often.

well, bearing in mind he's not been paid for most of the season, he dropped out 2/3 of the way through the giro after being a shoe-in for the now absent Fuglsang, his boss (and co-owner/investor of the team?) is about to get banned from the sport for life and his bro is out of action I'd say he's done pretty well just getting this far and he's due a good whinge-it's not like he's got much to lose. Saying that, I still don't like either of 'em.

    Swap for my sister?

  • How old's your sister?

If she's the same age as my ex (47) then I'll go for it. Seems like a good deal...

  • And will she tap me up for a tenner in the pub?

  • She's 56 and weighs more than I do. And I'm obese.

    Worth her weight in gold.

  • Anyway we were talking about a sibling exchange not incest.

  • I didn't say I wanted a yentz, but I'll take the gold...

  • Just checked the price of gold. Too expensive.

  • Platinum will do.

  • Even 9 carat gold is fine or a bit of Brinks Mat, if you have any of that laying around.

As you're aware, I am from Essex.

  • Watching today's stage again, while Wiggo's leadership was commendable, I couldn't help but observe that the situation helped him as it neutralised the threat of a Nibali attack in the final 20k. Nibbles is a greater threat than Cuddles over the next week.

    Used car tyres?

  • Very tempted to catch a train to France to watch the last stage then try to cycle back. Like most things this is a last minute idea.

Bollocks. Kirsty's booked us a week in Cornwall and I wasn't paying attention when I agreed to it. Now I'm driving on Sunday rather than screaming in celebration at LMNH as Wiggo romps to victory. Shit.

  • Shit.

  • Do you has DAB radio in the car? If so you can listen to it on 5live sports extra.

    School boy error there Sparkes.

Ironically you were probably eyeing up bikes/parts on line when you just nodded and agreed with her (we've all done it!)

That's revenge if ever I heard it.

Listening to cycling is about as exciting as listening to golf or cricket.

Exactly. Easy to neutralise when you prefer the status quo. Especially when you have problems with your bike on the climb and have to change it on the descent.

Then again, Nibali wouldn't have gained anytime on that last descent yesterday, as Sky had such strength in the group.

  • One conclusion from yesterday is that I really, really want a Sky rain jacket

  • They look tidy. Still I would never wear Sky sponsored team clothing for the following reasons;
a/ Wearing Team kit for a team you're not in = wanker
    b/ James Murdoch = wanker

I've got a weakness for Liquigas coloured 'dales developing...
