  • Find Fox's fast audax thread - I think he had a pair of carbon forks with short reach.

  • I am mostly set on getting a pair of Topeak Defender R1/R2's for the upcoming sludge. They say they can take 25c at most.

Does a 23mm rim change the profile of a 28c enough that it might squeeze under?

  • Very slightly, it's not the height you're worried about, it's the width.

  • Does anyone in London stock long Berthoud mudguards?

  • Right so I need a front mudguard that can keep my feet dry in the rain. Getting tired of getting home/work with soaked shoes.

Is there anything that is not a full guard/eye sore that anyone can recommend?

  • dat coverage.

  • Look great but not sure I can spend over £50 for guards.

Already have raceblades on my road bikes. Dont really want to put full guards on my SS.

  • dat coverage.

If I'd known about these before then the Oak would have them, as it is I've got two pairs of the Curana C-lite which I'll be using.

  • it's £60 according to Road.cc

Actually a better price than I thought, bit heavy for an alu mudguard (my 60mm GB weight the same).

  • I think the owner of the Spooky extended his mudflap further than normal.

Didn't I told you about them before?

  • No. LMNH is stocking them, interestingly.

How are you finding them for weight and coverage? Also what size did you get for your roadbike?

  • They're still in the box- need the bike before I can mount them (going on the Oak).

  • I see, size?

  • it's £60 according to Road.cc

I don't understand. They are $120 in the U.S. and 60 pounds ($95) in London? Is this some kind of introductory price? And LMNH is stocking these PDW guards?

  • I search in Google and a couple of online bike shop is also selling them for £60.

Price look great for those whom have a road bike with no mudguard mount/limited clearance, otherwise go for the SKS Longboard instead for nearly half the price.

Reputable shop like Charlie have them now.

  • Any idea on whether they'd work with some goldtecs?

  • There's always p-clips, but looking at the instruction, I can't see why not, with the only exception that you might have to reamed the mount a bit bigger.

  • Yeah. Was being lazy. Also remembered the bike theyre for runs 32s as well.

    So probably not for that.

  • Having had a pair of PDW fenders I can say they are pretty nice. The only issue is they are very tight on the clearance front. They just about work with skinny tires but a 25c pasela is too much for them

    .

+1 for SKS Longboard on sons' school hybrid commuter,
(Seal of Approval from Mrs. mespilus as well).

    Just over £27,
no lbs interested in supplying them,
    Halfords click'n'collect.

  • So, am about to get the Curana C Lite, can anyone advise width versus tyre size they use? I'm rocking 32s on my Nature Boy so I was thinking 40mm?

  • Review said they're not very long which in itself is a disadvantage, 32mm might be a tight fit with 40mm, theoretically 45mm would be idea.
