sorry - sounds a bit cunt-y read back a second time.
Edit: no thanks.

This has probably been answered already, but can you fit SKS Chromoplastics on a tightish track frame (EAI Bareknuckle) running a 23 0r 25c tyre?
-

Highly doubtful, it is a track bike after all.

At the other end of the spectrum, what mudguards do I want for a 27" wheeled frame running 700c wheels with 23c tyres?
I ordered some 700c SKS Blumels off CRC, they didn't fit at all and were massively wide too (stupidly ordered 45mm wide ones).
As much coverage as possible.
Bike looks like this

Sks blumels should fit a treat, get the thinner one. I have pretty much the same delio running chromoastics.
-
• #784
45mm should fit, how much wider is it? It look like it can take it as 35mm may be a tight fit with 28mm tyres.

Sorry didn't explain well - the 45mm fit between the fork width wise, but when looking at the bike side on there wasn't enough adjustment to get the guards anywhere near the tyre so there was a huge cap between tyre and guard. 45 was too wide for the tyres though too and looked a bit silly.
Looking at the packaging it appears they've sent me 28" versions not 700c.

That because you need to cut the stay shorter.
28" is the correct one.
-
• #787
Ok.
So I'm on the lookout for similar but in a narrower width. Cheers.
-
• #788
Yup. You should need to cut the stays down when fitting full guards.
-
• #789
I had that in the back of my mind but because of the Blumels having the plastic caps that go over the ends of the stays I changed my mind about it.

Is there an easy way to cut them? I hacksawed the front stays of my longboards but it took ages.

Pliers,
and,
a grip of steel!(Make certain you point the plier cup away from anything breakable,
the cut end will fly out with fury).[Used 8 inch nail/bolt cropper the second time].

I have hardcore wire cutters for just this. I always spend 10 mins sawing only to find I need another 5mm taken off.
100 Jewels! I'm not sure I can justify that haha!

Looks as if I'm going to have to work on my grip of steel...

They're not the ones I have. Mine were like £8. They have two pivot points to ramp up the force.
As someone else said. The sharp metal end of the stay. Will fly off at amazing speed, and embedd itself into anything that crosses its path. Be fecking careful.
