  • Limited clearance?

    PDW?

  • Doesn't look like they will work for me as I have a fixie with no rear brake bracket. Are there any full size mudguards that will fit without that? Or I am stuck with quick remove ones like the sks raceblade pro?

  • I use crud road racers mk2

  • Work for me fixie fine.

  • How did you attach the rear mudguard without a rear brake?

  • Clamped.

  • As well on the seatstays. Washer on the rear track seemed not a good idea.

  • Probably a silly question, but how are you clamping it and what with?

  • Twas my LBS. Magnets.

  • Noticed my Raw flap was looking a little wrinkled today. Closer inspection reveled the decal (for those that don't know, they are plain black plastic completely covered with a decal to give the flap your chosen design/colourscheme) peeling up from the bottom and a strip a couple inches up where water had gotten under the decal causing delamination right across the flap.

I figured the only way to save it was going to be to pull the decal off and have a plain black flap. On doing so I can see why the above has happened, the adhesive is shit. I know it's cold out today but still...

I reckon the flap is now a good deal flimsier too.

I was happy to pay the premium for the Raw flaps as they looked good, pity they don't last.

TLDR: Don't buy Raw flaps, make your own.

  • Just get a small strip of aluminium that you can wrap around the bridge and drill the strip to fit. Bit of lateral thinking and 5mins work should be all it takes.

  • Anybody know what the 531 is this kerazy setup (attached)? Dry legs thing, skirtguard, motor assist? Think there was a light on the tail.

  • Now I read team blaze. Lasery green pointy lights right? They have a team!

  • Do you have more pictures?

  • Bought some PDWs, hopefully they fit and work

  • Raceblade Pro seems like the only option for me with this bike, and I'm quite happy with them.

It's pretty tight under the dt and inside with 25s, and they need ocasional tweeks, but I don't think I could run something any more substantial without encountering different problems, and this is much better than just an asssaver.

  • A small collection of identical bikes with similar monstrosity of a mudguard, each having been "designed" by certain people invited to do so, were displayed in the glass container in front of the design museum in its last days... Looked quite poor so I didn't look in detail at the time...

  • Aha. Meh. Thanks.

  • Also seen couple of cyclists with similar set up, with the same single speed bike it seemed... Wouldn't be surprised if it was proprietary to the bike maker.

  • Really pleased with my PDW. Feel so much more solid than SKS and look awesome. Just need it to rain now...

  • Does anyone know the diameter of SKS mudguard stays and specifically if these (designed for a 3mm mudguard stay) would work as replacements for the fixing nuts

  • yeah, they work.. I bought a set not long ago..

  • Just measured them as 3.4mm.

  • Long shot, but I have a set of PDW full metal fenders in matte black that I'd like to swap for a set of the larger PDW city fenders. I had been meaning to sell them to fund the purchase, but it seems like they're hard to find at the moment.

  • Anyone tried Velo Orange stainless guards? Worth the extra over Gilles Berthoud?
