I've had 28mm Ribmos and Gravel Kings with the 30mm version. You'll lose some of the spray coverage, I'm sure, but if you've got the vertical space they should be okay.
Currently on Exal LX17 rims.

Great. Thanks for the advice. The pictures are particularly helpful.

No rattly mudguards.
Ones that can take a 35c kojak on a dt460.
Not spendy. -

42mm to cover 35c?
-
• #2610
Yep, kojaks are never actually 35mm so plenty of clearance.

more in fitting than those shiny shiny gilles jobs.

What's the fix for this, those sks breakaway clips?

Surely having additional space between rack and dropout would put more stress in the bolt. I'd put the mudguard stays outside and be done with it

Yeah but getting the wheel out?
-
• #2616
So as it stands you can't get the axle past the rack/fender stay?
-
• #2617
Not unless the tyre is deflated, I'm guessing.

Put the clips on the outside of the rack?
-
• #2619
Not unless the tyre is deflated, I'm guessing.
If it will (those ends are pretty short), then I don't see the problem.
But breakaway clips should make life a little easier.

Will the SKS raceblade pro (xl) fit my Cinelli Mash Histogram? How much better would these be than getting front and rear musguards?
-
• #2621
Deflated tyre.
It comes out and goes back in. Job done. -

Has anyone here used the blb classic alloy fenders before? Are they any good?
-
• #2624
No side coverage and being from BLB they'll be over-priced.

What mudguards would you recommend to get that don't look terrible? I have limited clearance
Interesting. I wonder whether they have made more than one model. Seems hard to square just fitting a 25 and also fitting a 28. Maybe a trade off between tyre height and width driven by rim width?
