  • I thought everyone loved BMW Gangstas? Surely this whole thread is bollocks?-

I was having a bubble bath, I fucking loved my Gangsta.

I'm taking it to the Sierra Nevada mountain for a good 115 miles ride, that how much I loved it.

  • You feel that Waitrose is insufficiently "real" for a man of Westwoods Gangster status?

Ahh, flashback. Whatever happened to Greasy Slag's "my man westwood" posts?

  • Im looking forward to when im finished with my gangsta build, its gonna be nice!

Ive already secured a nice Cherry red Carlton 531 lugged frame (mint) for my next build too!

    ;-)

  • Jesus. You are one of my customers and I claim my £5.

  • really?

  • does anyone know max tyre clearance i can fit on a V1?

  • 32c - 35c but this just a bit of a guess

  • I have 33.3 on the back of mine, reckon 35 would be the max with a long chain.

  • so my guess was good

  • Spot on i reckon, the key problem is the rear brake bridge rather than the chainstay.

  • Not on a V1.

  • Got 35 Panaracers on mine, doubt anything larger would fit on the rear..

  • The Gangsta in it's most recent guise. A stealth wheelset is also in the pipelines..

  • cheers all. @tomosvoboda is that a 35c on the rear? didnt think I could go that big...nice..

  • Doesn't look like a 35 in that pic, so i'm guessing he's since changed?
I've briefly used a 35 on the rear of mine too...although I bloody hated it, it did fit.

  • Cheers mate. Those are 23s, prefer them for daily cycling. These here are 35 Panaracers on my deep v wheelset, they're domed so actually bit bigger then 35 and they fit well. Had to add links to the chain though. If you want to try them/see them then you're more than welcome to aswell. Ta

  • Is it me, or does the v1 not have a rear brake bridge?

  • Yup, no bridge. That was put onto the V2..

  • Im after a front brake caliper to go on my cluster forks, they seem to need long drop calipers by the looks of things, what are other folk using or whats out there thats good and the right size?

    Thanks again

  • RIP Adam Yauch!
BMW might never have happened without you!

  • they dont seem to answer any emails. Is the whole thing dead?

  • they never answer emails. truly shite with communication

  • No it's not dead, Joe has a lot on his plate at the moment. If everything works out they'll be back stronger than ever.
