I was feeling excited for Autumn last night.
Then today I remebered that all british seasons equal rain.
Dooks, I hate to say it, but you do live in a town where the weather is pretty much the same every day of the year.

That's not down to the weather.

t... but i'm already looking forward to the mornings and evenings being cooler, getting a new winter jacket, busting out some autumn and winter recipes and and getting cozy under the duvet at night. i would hate to live in a town where the weather's the same every day of the year.
Summarised perfectly (one of) the reasons that the thought of moving to Perth depresses the fuck out of me.

It's only 11:58am and I've had to change clothes twice already.

I have just now paid over £1200 for a flight back to oz at xmas. I WILL HAVE a fucking summer this year (even if it breaks the bank).
-
• #3585
^ Fucking ouch. Christmas flights are such a rort.
(We fly out tomorrow)

You know, I enjoyed this summer too.
May was the warmest and brightest, but this summer have been enjoyable due to the thing I've done, such as the Dunwich Dynamo for example.
I feel summer isn't judged by the weather but what we've been doing.

What if you haven't been doing much because the weather's shit?

Then you spend too much time on the internet trying to find lovely looking bicycle instead of riding them.

"There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes". I've almost stopped caring about the weather now... this year, it still feels like I'm waiting for summer to begin and the "end of season" sales are starting already. I caved in and got a trainer - between that and just getting my head down and riding whatever the meteorological glumness I'm happy enough. Apart from last year's snow, seems spring and winter maybe have the best cycling weather these days..?

wtf?
-

^ Ha. Sorry. We're thinking about moving back to Australia in the next couple of years which probably means Perth. The weather in Perth ranges from 'quite warm and dry' to 'really fucking hot and dry' and I've realised that I actually like proper seasons and rain and stuff.

the thought of moving back to the retirement village would depress the fuck out of me too, but you're wrong about the weather.

Here you go, this one's more down with the kids and less potentially offensive:

also:
Parts of England are surprisingly dry, which is contrary to the stereotypical view—London receives just below 650 millimetres (25.6 in) per annum, which is less than Rome, Sydney or New York City.

Orly?
