enemy mine. Lou Gosset Jnr and that guy... from that thing...
fantastic film, probably on plenty of studios remake hit list.

On the flip side, hoping for some decent mindless action, watched Jack Ryan Shadow recruit. Rubbish. Chris Pine is likeable, but none of the intelligence of the Harrison Ford originals.
Total trash, loved every moment... :)
I've got 3 Days to Kill lined up for our next movie night...
We watched a 2009 movie called Monsters a coupla nights ago, good stuff... It's the first film by the guy who's just directed Godzilla...

What was the movie that involved a crash landed human space fighter pilot and a crash landed alien space fighter pilot. They were both marooned together on an inhospitable alien planet and the alien turned out to be pregnant. The human helped the deliver the aliens baby. Was early 90's I think and possibly James Spader.
Pretty sure there were no androids in it...
Independance Day. Morgan Freeman was excellent in it.

I've heard Monsters is great. However if you want to want to watch some more enjoyable trash, watch GI Joe 2. It's brilliant.

I remember it being good, but I think I was 10 or 11 when I watched it.
Cheers.

Classic Cronenberg... I think I might need to tee up a daytime Cronenberg marathon one of these days, Mrs TS can't stand his stuff... Bah...
Shivers, Rabid, The Brood, Scanners, Videodrome... All amazing...

I fucking love the Brood. Oliver Reed devours the scenery. Great stuff.

Once the exploding head scene's done I find Scanners turns formulaic, but Videodrome on the other hand's mental from start to finish. I revisited Dead Ringers recently - it's stood up well.
I enjoy how Cronenberg can still turn out disturbing and identifiable films, despite them being bigger budget. He's never compromised his subject matter or tone. For me he's a great director.

Agreed, he's awesome... Wasn't too thrilled with Cosmopolis but maybe I just need to watch it again...

Cronenberg plays the bad guy in NightBreed - check it out. Not the greatest horror movie but one of my faves for sure.
