  • New black Robocop looks like a sex toy.

  • Maybe it is intentional.

  • Just found out that there's an alternate ending to I Am Legend. I always liked the movie as a sort of vampire/zombie/post-apocalyptic fun-time, but not much more. With the alternate ending it's really a better film. Not a great film, but a fuller and more meaningful film.

(here if you want to see it: I Am Legend the Other Ending - YouTube
    )

  • Would anyone be interested in an unopened Twin Peaks First Season Special Edition 4 disc set?

    £10

  • First season... special edition, if the cover is anything to go by. Would be interested in the entire series...???

  • Anyone seen Kings of Summer? I caught it last night. Breezy American coming of age tale about some kids that ditch their families to live in the woods. Some very good comic writing, promising young actors and a great turn from Nick Offerman. A nice no-brainer weekend watch.

  • PS - Paulo Sorrentino's The Great Beauty looks pretty bloody good in my opinion. He's a great director and his previous films with Toni Servillo were ace.

  • Kinda looking forward to Filth the film of the Irvine Welsh book. Although slightly worried about James McAvoy in the lead.......

  • In Search of a Midnight Kiss

It's on iPlayer right now, really like it.

  • "In search of a midnight kiss..."

    Reported for soliciting.

...shit aside it's quite a good movie ;)

    watching it now.

  • Watched it earlier. It was great.

  • oh..damn wimmins

  • 8/10

  • More of a 7 for me but that scene with the wonton soup was incredible.

  • The parents of the one kid (Patrick?) were incredible. The elevator scene had me rolling over. But overall, just amazing characters throughout.

  • Just seen The Way Way Back, was a great film, a lots better than Little Miss Sunshine IMHO.

  • "You the living" and "four shades of brown" are firm recommendations for those into the Scandinavian dry sense of humour / firm acceptance of whatever happens sense of culture.

You The Living Trailer - YouTube
the death penalty dream scene in this movie cracks me up every time

Fyra nyanser av brunt (Four Shades of Brown) - Johan's hiding place - YouTube
can't find trailer, another somewhat bizarre study of human behavior where the characters mean well but bumble about.

May not be everybody's cup of tea, but the scene where the dad takes his son to work and you find out what he actually does...wry comedy gold.

It's all Le Manfriend's fault a Swedish speaking Frenchman.

  • Watch on mute = yawning zombies.

  • Have you read the book? I Am Legend basically invented survivalist horror. It's fucking great. Also the ending is completely different, and if they'd just followed that plot, a) it would have been a much better film, b) I'd have much respect for Will Smith. However then it wouldn't have been a hollywood blockbuster.

  • Peter Mullen double bill tonight on Film 4 - Neds and Orphans - both great films

I still think 'The Omega Man' was better in many ways. Though they stole lots from it in 'I am Legend'.

  • Omega Man IS better

  • Wasn't too impressed with Compliance, it might have been better if they hadn't splashed "ACTUALLY BASED ON TRUE EVENTS" on the screen at the beginning, I just sat there thinking, *that wouldn't happen, that wouldn't happen, that wouldn't happen, that definitely wouldn't happen*.

Watched "Shut Up and Play the Hits" the other night, brilliant stuff.

  • Completely forgot about this movie, downloading tonight. Even watching the trailer had me in stitches, it was quality the first time around.

Glad you enjoyed it, look up the main characters they've done some more Belgian absurdist stuff. Belgians have a weird sense of absurd humour (weird in a good way) see also Kamagurka.

Ow, also borderline offensive sometimes. Except Belgians/French/Dutch don't really do offended usually, more the Get over yourself.
