I watched Kon-Tiki on the way to Bali. Very interesting indeed.

I saw Kon-Tiki last year, I then downloaded the original movie, definitely worth a watch.

Watched the original documentary, but have been reluctant to watch the movie... Might have to give it a go.

Thor comes across as a bit extreme, even if the end result was a success

His work is a bit extreme, takes an "extreme" person to do it I guess... There's a great little museum in Oslo dedicated to the project and the story behind; well worth a visit if you're ever Norway way.

I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm pretty excited!

Looks pony IMO

I don't know what that means, but nostalgia has got me by the balls here.

The original was kind of funny. It's looks a bit more serious.

And who the fuck is the fella in the title role?
-
• #7938
The original wasn't funny? You must be thinking of Short Circuit. Hilarious.

The original Robocop was as camp as Christmas.

Caught Compliance which is a disturbing film (although certainly doesn't fit the mould of a horror film)

With all these 80s remakes, presumably this is only a matter of time :

I'd like to see that RoboCop, as long as they didn't put Colin Farrel in it like Total Recall it won't be that bad.

It would've been better if they'd put Pharrell in it instead.

And who the fuck is the fella in the title role?
Joel Kinneman - he was in 'The Killing' (american) series. Plus he has got a load of films coming out soon.

He is already robotic, would have been perfect!

I finally watched 'The Place Beyond The Pines' last night - was actually quite impressed. Not the film I thought it was, which is probably why I liked it so much. RyGo was so so. I imagine that when this was in the cinemas - lots of girls left half way through the movie. (Though probably not as much a 'Only God Forgives'.) Which is a shame since Bradley Cooper was pretty good.

I find Brian Duckling a little underwhelming, don't really understand all the hype.
Films seen recently
Kon-Tiki (interesting portrait of Thor Heyerdahl on their cross Pacific expedition)
Splice (fun thriller)
Essential Killing (enjoyable thriller with the background of the extraordinary rendition programme starring Vincent Gallo)
Bodyguards and Assassins (strong contemporary Korean martial arts film)
The Aura (strong Spanish crime thriller)
Disgrace (moody drama set with the background of racial tension in South Africa based on Coetzee's novel - far from uplifting but worth watching)
