But he made such a good daredevil... Hahaha.
Apparently, the Directors cut of Daredevil is supposed to be rather good. 30 extra mins of footage that beefs up the movie pretty well.

Doesn't change the fact he's in it though. Apparently he is a massive DD fan, just like Nic Cage with Ghost Rider, look how that turned out...
Keep the fanboys out, best actor for the job please.

Saw Elysium and Mortal Instruments last night, Elyiusm was like a big badder District 9. The south african guy plays a great bad in the film and Damon is well the same as always.
Its looks great, concept is very decent and it was a great scifi action film in my book. 8/10
Mortal instruments was ok, the story wasn't no bad, the teen romance part was dog shit and really pulled it down imo. Lily Collins is lovely tho. 5/10

Watched The Hurt Locker last night. Have not uncomfortably shifted in my seat as much during a film in a long time. Turns out I was sitting on a cashew.......

I watched Oliver Stones 'Savages' last night - it's incredibly bad, I can't believe I stayed to the end - like an awful 15 years too late pastiche of Quentin Tarantino

Hot Fuzz is amazing, South African guy in Elysium is not a great bad guy, he's just angry CB on (even more) roids - there's no acting, just a lot of shouting, sorethroat is an idiot, and when they announed Heath Ledger as The Joker, everyone baulked way more than they're doing about Affleck as Batman.

Elysium was pretty good. Absolutely relentless tension, nicely executed effects and violent as fuck. The premise could have done with a bit of fleshing out though. It was written by the director and it shows... It ain't Philip K. Dick. Also, I know it's sci-fi but the climax was a trifle unbelievable, y'know?

Just went to Haymarket to see Kick Ass 2. The film was a bit soulless and one scene was a bit rapey, overall I'll give it 'meh' out of 10. Screen 2 in Haymarket Cineworld smells damp damp damp.

^^^ Yup, definite squelitis. The lack of Vagun directing is noticed.

Agreed. Terrible film. WTF was going on with Hayek?

I went on a 2nd date to see Savages at the cinema, my pick. So I blame Oliver Stone for that one not working out!
I'd have left if it was up to me, even Blake lively lovelyness couldnt save it!

I saw Elysium at the weekend too - didn't think it was amazing just ok. Matt Damon was totally wasted in it. Don't get me started on Jodie Foster - good concept. Just badly executed. Neill Blomkamp has already said there is not going to be a District 10 - which is sad. District 9 was just so good,
I think the hollywood effect is going to cut his career short. Box office wise the movie is not doing too badly though - so Matt Damon wins again.

Great little movie. Watched it when it first came out and then again 2-3 years ago in Margate no less; one of them "one night only" sort of things. Wife didn't like it... left me shortly after ;)
Was on the run-up to me and the boyfriend getting together. That and Melancholia. Rom coms just don't do it sometimes... ;)
Cell 211 (Spanish movie) is very good too, watched The Brood not bad prefer Videodrome still. American Mary is surprisingly decent as it sounds bad on paper.

No district 10 but he is workign on making a film with Die Antwoord who play themselves in a film where they've not really made any money from music so turn to crime instead. how can this not be brilliant?
For me the thing I liked the best about District 9 was Wickus (sp?) Copley played that part really well and in many ways made the film. With any other actor it wouldn't have worked. in some ways as much as I enjoyed him in Elysium it may have been better had he swapped roles with Damon - only because he makes me laugh a lot. Buut I digress it's the characters that seem to really drive the films he's made and in some ways the storyline is secondary so with Die Antwoord leading it it'll be interesting.

The way way back and You're next tonight, Way way back looks like a very decent coming of age/feel good film. You're next, I'm hoping will be mildly scared and give me a nightmare for a week. YES

Completely forgot about this movie, downloading tonight. Even watching the trailer had me in stitches, it was quality the first time around.

Let me start on You're next, I'm unsure how this got so much attention and awards on the festival circuit because it was terrible, the acting right off the bat was brutal, not long in some stupid things happened and I had my guard up the rest of the film. It was obvious and clumsy, I'm not sure whats happened to horrors in the last few years, but most of the time I find them completely shit and this one fell right into this cat.
The Way way back, well I'll start on steve Carrel first, after 40 year virgin he's not been in anything that I regard to have been funny. His character in the film was a douchebag so i disregarded im. The film itself I loved, Liam James who plays Duncan in it, is a awkward teenager struggling to figure out where he fits in and he finds a place at the water park where he fits in amongst a group of adults who mostly dont want to grow up. I think the thing with this film is that you can relate to it, it was funny, quirky and a decent coming of age film.
Best film I've seen all summer I recon.
He's just super awesomes, look at his back catalogue, A+ talent right there..
