That's a fun film but definitely not for anyone squeamish.
Yup. I'm not massively squeamish or anything, but combined with the darkness of the themes, it caught me a bit by surprise. There are some fantastic performances (Ellen Page is tremendous), and the fast-paced, low-budget filming feeds into the pace and energy of the film in a positive way. Good soundtrack too.

Agreed, I liked it a lot but holy shit is it brutal and dark (and I'm generally hard to shock). It came out around the same time as Kick Ass so I think everyone went into it with that sort of expectation but they're totally different (I like them both).
I thought Super 8 (mentioned above) was pretty wank though.

i saw super at the weekend, thought it was ok
another quirky, low budget American movie
-
• #6883
Has it just been released in the UK or something?
-
• #6884
Don't think so. I saw it over a year ago on DVD.

Saw Amour at the Ritzy on saturday. beautiful and grim. Haneke certainly uses silence as a powerful weapon in his films - the final sequence of Isabelle Huppert sitting in that chair, followed by soundless credits, left the audience stifled

Great, now I know how it supposely end.

Skyfall. Very enjoyable and, for me, a proper Bond film.. Made me nostalgic for Xmas day, 10 years old, watching Goldfinger..

Someone sits in a chair? I'm not sure I've given that much away by revealing that.
The credits included a job title I've not seen before: Dresseur de pigeon

watched a few films this weekend all uninspiring pretty much.
the watch - largely unfunny and tedious, couple of half decent bits but not many
ted - some very funny bits but same old hackneyed girl gives guy ultimatum, flips out when he doesnt act how she wants, they split, girl takes him back after half-arsed gesture they fall in love again forgetting she tossed him out on a whim type rom-com plot
thats my boy - shitty adam sandler movie, no more said
looper - half decent story line, lots of flat points in backstory, turns into m knight shyamalamadingdon film at the end with predictable, boring nonsense. the attempt to age JGL made him look like as fake as jude law when he played the robot in A.I. -

Likewise. Can't beat Peckhamplex, £5 all day everyday.
Fucking love the 'plex! Went there to see The Master and...
Walked out after hour and half of nothing. Fucking raging how can a film be so awful?
Didn't walk out, but was left wandering what exactly happened... I'm hoping I will realise its genius. It's unlikely.

Toss up between Master and Amour for Wednesday...I leave it to her.
Watched TED tonight, meh.
Watched Cosmopolis last night - fuck off.Has anyone seen a royal affair? Im considering watching it..
-

I watched Cosmopolis over the weekend too. I had to do it in two sittings and nearly fell asleep both times. It was pretty tedious, shame as it had potential.

Watched Tyrannosaur this evening. You get what you expect from Eddie Marson, and Olivia Colman is even better.
Incase you haven't seen it
