Watched The Sum of All Fears last night - Perfectly OK for the first hour, then turned to weird slow motion/everything on fire/cram in expository shit.
Followed it by Super.
Not Super 8.
Super.
With Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page.
Weird fucking film. Seriously. Deeply disturbing. Had some funny moments but I was left mainly thinking, "I really hope I never meet anyone like that."
Highlight was Ellen Page raping Rainn Wilson.

Cheating at a quiz?
I watching Gainsbourg for the first time last night. I quite liked it, obviously his life was a really interesting story and the film necessarily had to skim over it pretty quickly to get it all in, but it does a decent job I reckon. I quite liked the puppet parts, especially while he was a kid. They could have made a whole film about the 14-year-old Gainsbourg getting into scrapes and making older women take their clothes off for his paintings. Obviously the soundtrack is great as well, and the way Elmosnino ages as the film progresses was really convincing and quite impressive, something the French obviously do I quite as I thought the same about the Edith Piaf film.
Also made me think about his talk show appearance with Whitney Houston, before I found out she'd snuffed it. That should be her epitaph: "Tell 'er, I want to fuck 'er"

Transporter 2. Awful film
So crap they made another one, and probably another one. Besson's production company are behind these too - but lets move on.

Don't get me started, they had some real scope for making the rest of the Jack Ryan books. But this fucked it up.

Been meaning to watch that too. Check out 'Defendor' from last year, with Woody Harellson, same kind of theme.
Highlight was Ellen Page raping Rainn Wilson.
That is the only way Dwight can get any action.

baftas?
anyonegood to see universally rated John Hurt get a standing ovation.
really random seeing a lad we used to knock around with 20 years ago getting an award.
going to 'descendents' on a date soon

Saw 'Man on a Ledge' finally - bit of a predictable crime thriller. Totally watchable, though not essential viewing.
Want to see 'A Dangerous Method' and 'The Artist' this week.

Excellent film. Clooney's very good.

Just reading executive orders atm, every other one of these series i've read i've though "this could be a cracking film" and yet when ever you watch one of the versions they're all shite. I'd quite like too see a version of 'cardinal in the Kremlin', but done in a kind of tinker taylor style.

Was that Paddy C?
I was really pleased he got an award for Tyrannosaur. Fantastic film, but I never ever want to see it again.

Come on it wasn't that bad. I thought it was better than the original TV movie by a wide margin.

Whaaat? The TV series maybe, the original film (not a TV film by the way) absolutely not.
One of the dumbest films I've ever seen. Terrible

• #5221
Ok, it wasn't a TV Movie (just seemed that way) - but the title was different. [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conquest_of_the_Planet_of_the_Apes"]Conquest of the Planet of the Apes[/ame].
