I watched Source Code today. I thought it was pretty good actually, although I would have found the plot a lot fresher had I not watched Moon (by the same director, Duncan Jones) before Christmas. The premise of both films is pretty fucking similar in my opinion...
Gonna watch The Interrupters later. It's a documentary about gang violence in Chicago from the director of Hoop Dreams so should be good.
PS - Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (Fincher) is alright in my opinion, bar a really questionable sequence where the titular girl puts on a blonde wig for purposes of international espionage. It also has the most bizarre title sequence... It really made no sense to me.

Really enjoying Lemmy: The Movie
It's on TV now. What a legend.
I bumped in to him outside a strip club in LA once.

Was he kitted out in full suspenders etc?
-
• #4759
Indeed. I stuffed a $5 note down his knickers.

Cheap cow - it was Lemmy.

He only put a tenner down mine.

What? An entire Opera singer?

If it was sterling then that's alright. Bit of a skimp if it was dollars.
-
• #4764
Sterling silver dollar and it's wins all round.

Did he realise you were a fan?

It was dollars.
Nice pun Oliver :)

^I concede all of the above without exception BUT while he may be an alien-loving egocentric, he was pretty good in Rain Man and Vanilla Sky was all right (maybe), and his cold-killer in Collateral was a refreshing change from his previous roles.
Still count him as Knig of the Cnuts though...
Never, never, never watched Knight and Day.
Seriously, just don't, there's so much I can take of his fucking annoying smirk...

Yeah, the intro really jarred for me as well. Like a weird Bond, and really didn't sit with the scenes that preceded and followed.
I was pleasantly surprised by the film, I hadn't read the books or seen the originals, and because of their popularity I was expected something Dan Brown-esque, and I wouldn't have gone if it weren't for my friend's family offering to take me. I think I was a bit wrong, although admittedly I haven't read anything by Dan Brown or seen the Da Vinci Code either.
It took me a while to get used to the fact that it was in Sweden, adverts and shop signs were in Swedish, but the dialogue and letters between 'Swedish' characters in English. I know it's hard to get around that, but it still seemed clumsy somehow.

GWTDT
I've tried to justify that title sequence in my mind a few different ways and I'm just no closer to explaining it. I find it really hard to believe that a director of Fincher's calibre could view the completed film and be like 'Yep, that fits perfectly.'
I really wanted to love this film, and in many ways I did (Rooney Mara's performance was amazing, for instance) but there were one or two sequences that lacked polish - the 'blonde wig' sequence, as I said, felt particularly tacked-on. I'm willing to concede that this may be a weakness in the source material but as I haven't read the books I really can't comment.
Overall, this was still an excellent film. Definitely worth seeing if you haven't already. It is 'edge of your seat' exciting throughout.

Sherlock Holmes definitely is not "edge of your seat" exciting.

The RJ Downey Jnr one? So many continuity errors throughout. I can't wait for the second series from the BBC

The Guy Richie thing, just lazy. I know it's all updated and stuff, but the characters bear absolutely no resemblance to the Holmes and Watson from the books.
The BBC one I loved, although I guessed who the baddie was immediately, and I spent the rest of the episode trying to think where the twist was coming which would show that he wasn't the baddie after all. Only he was.
Sorry, got home from cinema and downed half a bottle of red.
