  • Has he been in a decent film at all?

Born on the 4th of July
    The Last Samurai
    Magnolia
    Collateral
Tropic Thunder - less so perhaps but he stole it with those dance moves LOL.

I'm led to believe that he's been in decent films but I'm always put off going to see anything with him in it because of his frankly absurd religious views.

Firstly I'm not a fan of Scientology or off Tom Cruise. His crazy religious views should not stop you from seeing him as an accomplished actor. I can see why some people are turned off from his films, especially in America. In fact Paramount fell out with him over his public statements and behaviour. Which just made him start his own production company since he is has his own cash, and financing his films in most cases for some investors is probably a no-brainer.

I enjoyed him in eyes wide shut with kidman. Both their wooden acting worked with that films premise

Don't get me started on that film.

  • I liked the character that he played on Oprah.

Yeah that was just OTT. The whole thing with Katie Holmes I don't get either, but then it's none of our business. All I'm gonna say is Suri still looks asian.

  • Whatever you do, do not watch Knight and Day.

That smirk, oh that fucking smirk of his...

That film is absolutely shocking. Sad to say that I saw it at the cinema - 2 hours and £10 I'm never getting back.

    lol wut?

Yeah, all shit besides Collateral, and marginally Tropic Thunder which was funny despite Tom Cruise's role.

Adding to that is Vanilla Sky which was one of the most repulsively arrogant, self congratulatory films I've seen.

I think he was alright in Minority Report.

  • I'm really glad he's never won an Academy Award.

  • I may regret it but am not going to miss the remake of THE THING on the biggest screen I can catch it on.

  • Boycott it ;)

  • +1

  • ...I have a special degree of hatred reserved for people.....on this list...:

    Chris Tarrant
    Eamonn Holmes
    Cliff Richard

    Agree fully.

    & Steven Gerrard.

    Do not agree. Sorry.

Oh yes; Collateral was very good. Sorry again.

  • Can we add Richard Madeley and Noel Edmonds to that list? Ta.

Sat down to watch Shawshank...again. The scene with Brooks in his new apartment got me...again

  • Oh yes, which reminds me: Has Tim Robbins been in anything decent recently? The last two films I saw him in were Tenacious D: Pick of Destiny and War of the Worlds....Errrr

  • the perfect host 5/10
    monsieur verdoux 8/10
    paycheck 5/10
    dead snow 7/10
    win win 7/10
    son of morning 6/10
    drive 9/10
    we are the night 8/10
    breaking away 6/10
    the woodman 7/10
    horrible bosses 6/10
    the last starfighter 6/10
    the woman 8/10
    patton 8/10
    big fish 7/10

  • Men that are Out get far fewer roles. Hollywood is a hotbed* of homophobia.

    • I suppose the term should actually be sauna of homophobia.

Rock Hudson was a classic. A friend of mines brother got propositioned by cruise at a big awards, turned him down and the bouncer at the toilet door told him it never happens as he left. Did Holmes career no harm either

  • Just watched Rounders. Lazy Sunday viewing at best, even so, I can't believe they let Malkovich get away with that accent.

  • predator on channel i dont fucking know as we speak. if you're not watching it you must be some sort of panty wearing nancy boy.

  • Some of us have it on DVD... Predator 2 isn't worth the effort though

Just watched Rounders. Lazy Sunday viewing at best, even so, I can't believe they let Malkovich get away with that accent.

I enjoyed it. Most stuff with Matt Damon in it is good enough for passing the time. As you say, that 'russian' accent was awful

  • predator on channel i dont fucking know as we speak. if you're not watching it you must be some sort of panty wearing nancy boy.

I text a mate to tell him, the reply.. "watching titanic"

    :(

  • I got Sky HD the other day, so I'm watching Predator in HD.

  • Do C4 have a quota they need to fill as to the number of times they broadcast Predator every year?

  • just got back from watching Drive. It was absolutely awesome. Very very stylish, incredible photography and sound. Loved every minute.

  • I'm pretty drunk, watching the original Nowegian version of Insomnia.

Very, very good. Strangely cold, with an odd brutal edge.

I'm incredibly tired and a bit messy but I can't switch it off. Good film.

  • transformers 3 is so awful i can't even begin to say

  • Do C4 have a quota they need to fill as to the number of times they broadcast Predator every year?

Yes, only 22 more times this year then the count resets.

just got back from watching Drive. It was absolutely awesome. Very very stylish, incredible photography and sound. Loved every minute.

Aye, the soundtrack is just awesome sounds so 80s but isn't in a good way.

I think the Norwegian version is better in some ways.

transformers 3 is so awful i can't even begin to say

Yes, just terrible in every way and the story is just so flawed that it breaks it self.
