I can't say I have a favourite War film.
Hang on, Das Boot must be it I suppose.

Ashe
possibly one of your best lists ever
Never know if you people are being sarccy or sincere, so I won't rise to it.
I don't think it is - I was about to type the same thing. Great selection.
Though I quite enjoyed the Track Handlebars List.

Total loon.
As you wish...especially interesting if from differing genres.
Western:
Once Upon A Time In The West
Shane (Runner Up), True Grit (2010) (Runner Up)Action:
Leon
North By Northwest (Runner Up), The Bourne Ultimatum (Runner Up)Sci-Fi/Fantasy:
The Lord of The Rings Trilogy [all tied]
Aliens (Runner Up), Star Trek (2009) (Runner Up)Drama:
Old Boy
The Usual Suspects (Runner Up), Rabbit Proof Fence (Runner Up)Comedy:
The Ladykillers (1955)
Monty Python And The Holy Grail (Runner Up), The Commitments (Runner Up)Anime or Cartoon:
The Incredibles
Spirited Away (Runner Up), Akira (Runner Up)Its all a bit populist, so I apologise in advance.
Some populist choices, true, but it doesn't detract from the fact that there are a lot of great films in that list. I don't think James was taking the piss at all!
Spirited away - mind bendingly good.
Rabbit Proof Fence - tragic and amazing.
I can't cover them all...
To be honest, any two films from that list would still make a great Saturday night in!

great list
Wouldn't describe it as that populist. Some subtle tweaks and deviations and riffs off populism.
Action: Populist= anything with bruce willis.
sci fi: " = Bladerunnerstarwars
Comedy: " = Some like it hot bringing up baby

just watched bourne supremacy. More enjoyable car chases. Can't wait to see (the car chases in) ultimatum (especially as it's in GA2Gs list)

Popular films are popular for a reason, GA2G. It's not just you who likes them! ;-)

One interesting thing about making that little list, was juggling which films to leave out. Though it only took me a few minutes, I made a (personal) judgement call that certain notable films I liked, were actually inferior to those chosen.
The *Did Not Make The List* - List (oh I kill myself!) :-) :-)
Western
A Man Called Horse
The Good, The Bad, and The UglyDrama
City of God (possibly my favourite film ever)
Seven
Bad Boy Bubby
In The Realm of the Senses
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless MindAction
ZatoichiI have to confess, that films/movies are my favourite form of entertainment.

As a matter of interest, though most people say that Momento is a fantastic film, I preferred Irreversible, which was also told using reverse chronology. In fact, if one watches Irreversible after just having eaten a hearty meal, I fear then for their carpets. The swoopy camera work is sure to seriously affect one's internals. Who's seen both, and agrees/disagrees with me?

Best car chase in a film has to be opening credits of 'The Other Guys'

Not at all. genuinely like your list, love car chases in movies have been watching the bourne trilogy for the first time.
I found bourne entertaining and refreshing, more realistic than bond and other Hollywood actioners. The character jason bourne is more of a cypher who had no personality like an avatar in a video game so he is easy to identify with. The action and car chases were more realistic, less absurd.
I've seen every film on your list but Old boy which I have never heard of so will seek that out

Watched the fighter last night.
Its a modern version of Rocky without the cheese.
Same goes for the soundtrack
Mark Wahlberg plays a great Mark Wahlberg (if you like Mark Wahlberg)
Christian bale plays a great crack headtwo thumbs up

On a totally different note, has anyone ever seen The Monkees film - Head ?
It is without doubt one of the finest bonkers 60's acid movies ever!
Did no-one answer?
Yes. Porpoise Song at beginning and end is great. I dropped 5 major trips concocted by someone in academia in Liverpool (each one about the size of a postage stamp) whilst watching Porpoise1, and by the time Porpoise2 came around, I was on the fucking moon. Right there. In the middle.

Bad Boy Bubby! I didn't know anyone else who's seen that.
Seriously, seriously fucked up...
I adore Man called Horse. It is soooo epic!
Anyone out there a fan of Little Big Man? Of a similar scale to Man called Horse, but much funnier.

• #1994
No. No no no no no no no.
No.Little BIG man.

• #1995

I really want to watch it, right now! Faye Dunnaway was undiluted sex in that film. In fact, there wasn't a weak performance.

Bad Boy Bubby! I didn't know anyone else who's seen that.
Seriously, seriously fucked up...
I thought it was funny and heart-warming. I also sampled it quite a bit, way back when.
I've probably mentioned it before, but did you know it was the first (and is possibly the only) film to have the sound recorded binaurally? Two small microphones behind the lead actor's ears. [/BMMFy want pizza]

Yes. Porpoise Song at beginning and end is great.
