  • On a totally different note, has anyone ever seen The Monkees film - Head ?

It is without doubt one of the finest bonkers 60's acid movies ever!

  • ^^^pow!^^^

  • I mean at Dooks...

  • Brown Sugar is, like most Stones song, total pump.

  • Define 'pump'...?! As in 'gash'?

  • ".........chases bad guys in car " seen one, seen them all !

  • every good film need a car chase...

    just watching the Bourne identity
featuring a slowish car chase where he is in a red french mini like car being chased by some gendarme on slow vespa type bikes...

A slow car chase is better than no car chase

  • I would like to see a boris bike chase in a film. everyone spinning for their lives and going nowhere fast. if it's a comedy film then it would also be acceptable to see commuters on normal bikes casually passing them as they went.

I always liked that car chase. I thought it was really slickly edited and had a couple of nice character touches and all.

I'll tell you what though - the opening car chase in The Transporter with Jason 'Crank 2: "He died. But he got better"' Statham - I maintain is fucking awesome.

    Silly. But awesome.

betcha the next bond has the hire bikes involved in the inevitable london bit.

  • i haven't seen the carchase in bulllittt. i read the script for it and thought "why bother?"

    *winky

Oh, the script is pants, but you can't beat the atmosphere and tension. :)

  • old movie that made an impression on me and I should probably revisit?

    Near Dark

It made me want to be one of them

  • kiefer's finest moment^

  • Just found A Sunday In Hell, in all it's full length glory on YousTubes.

  • kiefer's finest moment^

    Lost Boys?

  • I also seriously liked Barfly, Scent of Green Papaya, Last Days and (not so old) Wendy & Lucy

Want to see them all again soon.

  • ^lost boys yes my mistake, similar themes though
    like Vamp

  • I knew what you meant straight away, I think as both were from a similar time they are easy to mix up unless, like me, you saw one or another way too many times, I saw Near Dark a lot, the bar scene is stamped into my memory.
    Never seen Vamp, should I?

  • Oliver, do you think you would have watched Rabbit Proof Fence, if you had read the script first? There are large sections of the film with little to no dialogue at all, and consists of people wandering across desert landscapes. As a drama, I find it one of the most powerful and affecting that I can remember.

  • Exactly its a complete nonstory - who cares about a spoilt little rich boy overcoming a minor speech impediment - especially when it has has no baring on his life (hes king either way) or anyone elses (we win the war eitherway) ...

    AVOID AVOID AVOID

    Total loon.

Give us a top 5 list.

As you wish...especially interesting if from differing genres.

    Western:
Once Upon A Time In The West
Shane (Runner Up), True Grit (2010) (Runner Up)

    Action:
    Leon
North By Northwest (Runner Up), The Bourne Ultimatum (Runner Up)

    Sci-Fi/Fantasy:
The Lord of The Rings Trilogy [all tied]
Aliens (Runner Up), Star Trek (2009) (Runner Up)

    Drama:
    Old Boy
The Usual Suspects (Runner Up), Rabbit Proof Fence (Runner Up)

    Comedy:
    The Ladykillers (1955)
Monty Python And The Holy Grail (Runner Up), The Commitments (Runner Up)

    Anime or Cartoon:
    The Incredibles
Spirited Away (Runner Up), Akira (Runner Up)

Its all a bit populist, so I apologise in advance.

  • I presume you mean the orignal ladykillers?

  • Sorry, yes. :) The remake isn't worth a mention really. I'll add the date to make it clearer.

  • Ashe

possibly one of your best lists ever

  • Never know if you people are being sarccy or sincere, so I won't rise to it.
