Clara and I bought a Optoma DS316L projector for Christmas, and now have the equivalent of a 120" screen. I've you've ever thought about getting one I thoroughly recommend it, connected up to my computer playing 720p movies it looks great. It won't break the bank either.
Is that the one that's available relatively cheap from ebuyer? Interesting. Although I guess it can't go 'full HD', when do I ever watch stuff in full HD...never, really.

When it came out a few people I know insisted you were meant to watch it without subtitles. Fucking stupid without knowing what the're saying you'd never understand the connections.

I don't know if it's on again, but there's a whole season of Howard Hawks movies.
To Have and Have Not is on in the first half of feb, worth going to see just for Lauren Bacall. -

Right. There is a film I've been trying to find out the name of for years.
I can't remember the entire plot, or anyone who was in it, which i know is a good start, but I can remember a lot of other details.
It was set in 50's-ish suburban america, the main character was a teenage boy that either worked at, or was friends with the guy that ran the local cinema. There was scene with the two people in the cinema rigging up seats with buzzers as a gimmick for a horror movie.
At some point there was a dream sequence where the boy walked through his house to the front door, opened it and saw a nuclear explosion in the distance, so I think him being afraid of that was throughout the movie, and then, in the final scenes I'm sure there were bad guys in the cinema that were scarred off by a fake fire or explosion that came from the cinema screen (another new 3d gimmick using two projectors if i remember correctly). Other than that all i know is that I watched it on TV about 10 years ago, late one night.I thought that was going to be enough to find it, but I can't.
So there is a little challenge for any movie boffins on here.

dream sequences are particularly prevalent in todays cinema,
'lovely bones' last night, managed to stay awake, despite it being one of them magic realism efforts, well made at least but not really my cup of rosie -
