Going to see the Green Hornet tonight - not sure if its gonna be good.
I loved the new TRON, though I was really worried about that being shit at the time. But I don't really have anything vested in Green Hornet as such so maybe I'm not as worried.

Looking forward to seeing that. Love Michael Gondry. Apparently his twist on bullet time is good.

whaddya reckon EB?
from a critical sociocultural standpoint i liked the monologue where he called himself out on camera for being a 'hardhero' that didnt tell anyone where he had gone.....
dont think that the foootage was the *actual *footage Ralston took thoughit was a quite fightclubby in the fast sections and elsewhere,
might watch fight club again, I always remember it whenever seeing a celluloid film show again, as all the films at Poole lighthouse are now digital presentations.in Dolby *stereo----stereo----- stereo---- *

The arm amputation scene in 127 Hours is fine. Dido on the soundtrack however was almost too gruesome for words......

how so?

Watched Keiller's London again a few weeks ago (had been a couple of years I think) and it was like watching a brand new film. A brand new experience, anyway, really really recommend watching it if you've seen it before or not. I really liked it before but in a nostalgic, dated, curious about London kinda of way. Now it seems so much more ... resonant? Like, so many things are sort of going on now; bankers, Tories winning elections, dissent on the streets, the end-of-the-eighties fashion...
Haven't seen Robinson in Ruins yet. Hope the DVD's out soon.

Just finished watching Gummo. Can't really attempt to describe it, but if you like John Waters' films and Happiness by Todd Solonz then i'd recommend it. Some truly gruesome moments
The arm amputation scene in 127 Hours is fine.
I saw it in the preview showings. So many people told me they wouldn't be going to see it because of that, as if somehow the whole film was going to be him slowly yet graphically amputating his own arm. What did you think of the whole film? I thought if you already knew the premise of the film (guy goes out alone, gets arm trapped, ends up amputating own arm) it didn't really get any better than that. Although Franco was quite good in it. And it was good to see the real Ralston at the end.
Much preferred Touching the Void.

Thanks!
Lots of people would agree with you there.
Saw Human Centipede tonight, finally. Really surprised at how good it was, thought it would be crappy. IMDBd the director and see that HC2 is in post-production, that's going to give me sweet dreams.

Watched "The Heavy" starring Gary Stretch last night.
It was so bed-shittingly bad I thought Danny Dyer would appear at any minute.

^Never heard of the film, or Gary Stretch for that matter.
Sounds dreadful anyway.

Clara and I bought a Optoma DS316L projector for Christmas, and now have the equivalent of a 120" screen. I've you've ever thought about getting one I thoroughly recommend it, connected up to my computer playing 720p movies it looks great. It won't break the bank either.
i think the word yer looking for is 'mediocre'
which is worse than being shit. some people excel at being shit, which in a way is admirable. look at nicolas cage!
