I don't know shit about the occult, I just found it interesting to see a big-budget horror film engaging with it and did a tiny big of googling after I got home. What's your problem mate? This is the thread for film discussion is it not?

I've edited my original post to avoid mentioning the movie so your subsequent spoiler posts have nothing to hang on. Mate.

Who or what is a Dum-bell-door?
-
• #14406
Erm, I didn't know it was going to feature demons.
Not super unexpected, [ghost or demons? flip a coin!] minor spoiler nonetheless.

It's Dumb-Bald-Ore, it's the raw material that Vin Diesel* is made out of.
*You know, the "Tears in rain" guy from Bald Rainer.

Hereditary is really very good, a complete opposite of the modern by numbers rollercoaster ride horror movie, it builds slowly as a family grief takes hold and the atmosphere of dread grows. The acting is great too, some really unhinged but believable characters. I liked the ending, just thought the CGI let it down slightly.

a time travelling filmmaker went forward in history and made a documentary about the end of the trump presidency
it was shown on tv last night " The Day After "lets hope we don't have a nuclear war huh !
pretty powerful film showing how quickly the breakdown in law and order happens -

I saw The Incredibles 2 on Wednesday (Cineworld secret screening)
It was a good fun film, but not better than the original. -

Sicario: Soldado reviews seem promising

Raw (Grave) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4954522/
When a young vegetarian undergoes a carnivorous hazing ritual at vet school, an unbidden taste for meat begins to grow in her. Sounds like slocky b-stuff, but it is actually quite a deeper movie than that about hazing, growing up and family woes. Well worth a watch, the ending is superb.
[other movies with indirectly the same theme "trouble every day" which is quite a bit longer, and got massively slated but I liked it]

Watched it all, took the kids to the cinema, so couldn't really leave. Utter shite of a film.
Le supermarche has Shape of Water for a tenner, is it worth buying? -

I loved Shape of Water, but I also didn't hate Ready Player One, so take from that what you will.

Got through it all eventually. On the turbo so I was only really looking for flashing lights to not really concentrate on.
Still took a few sittings -

Sicario 2, I wasn't sure if Id like it as much as I liked the 1st but it was really good. Built some nice tension and brolin/benito are both class in it.

Any recommendations (to save an hour's scrolling, thus making it too late to watch a film) for free Amazon prime movies?

Killing of a sacred deer is on my list.
Except you of course, which is the takeaway you presumably want to leave the rest of us with.
Do you give seminars? Are they cheap?
